Very fresh seafood, cooked perfectly. Delicious meals and generous portions. Good, friendly service, although, as an earlier reviewer has said, the 2 waitresses are run off their feet. Ate here our first night and returned the second night as we decided it would be hard to beat. We had the merlu, the daurade and the paella, all excellent. Very good... More

Really good quality food, generous portions, despite being run off her feet, the waitress was really good. The Mariscada was really good (mixed shellfish, in a basque sauce). Recommended.

Ate here at the end of a long day sight seeing along the basque coast. We were famished! A good choice on the menu especially the seafood on the menu of the day. I ate a monkfish brochette, others in the party had the Marisco platter, parillada de poisson and suckling pig. All of our chosen dishes were delicious. The... More

Amazing squid a la plancha. Good range of fresh fish. Obviously busy but service attentive and perfectly good. Though we arrived late we were made to feel very welcome. Going back there for the squid.

The food was very tasty but be careful in regards to the set menu which my husband ordered. He allowed me a taste and so the owner then started a bill for me as well thereby undoing the low priced set menu and making an extra 8€ from the same combination of food. The highlight was the excellent service and... More

Reading the reviews I was not surprised that they were mixed. The owner is a bit slippery. The fixed menu is withdrawn when it gets full. You have to ask for it. I wanted a half bottle of red but told to take a full one and leave half; why not decant a half into a pitcher? My meal was... More

My wife and I ate here on Thursday 19th June. The service was very bad and the food very disappointing. Best avoided!

Every dish served in this small busy restaurant by friendly staff was abundant, filled with a delicious variety of fish that tasted fresh from the sea. Fair prices, good wine selection and excellent bread. We went a second time for Zarzuela and couldn't finish by half. My only complaint is not of the restaurant but of the region's restaurants: red... More

St Jean de Luz is a lovely town which is full of restaurants. We took a chance and picked this one at random just before we left for the airport. It was a good choice and we were surprised and impressed at the standard of cooking and what a delicious lunch we had. A lot of care went into the... More

Just visited this restaurant for the third time - it never lets you down. Fresh fish from a local boat. What's on the menu is what was caught the night before. Small but select wine list - his supplier of spanish Verdejo deserves a medal!
