Living only ten miles from this lovely pub, we've frequented it quite a few times, I even wrote a review five years ago. The high standards have been maintained, and the landlord continues to keep excellent beers.. My wife and I went for an early evening meal last Saturday with my son and daughter-in-law and their two young boys. The... More

Literally the best pie I've ever had! Great beer, lovely people. Just what we wanted after a 6 mile hike.

I thoroughly enjoyed my meal at this inn after visiting my cousin. I loved the lemon dressed salmon fillets and their chef's special dessert chocolate fudge cake. Very comforting good food is served here!

What a little gem to find in this village. Staff were friendly and helpful. Menu had a great selection and food was all very fresh! Portion sizes were big and price very reasonable. I liked that the pies changed each day and were made fresh that day and you could taste it! Chips too were clearly home made and not... More

I visited the Packhorse Inn with a walking group of 12 people. I had phoned in advance and got a most helpful and encouraging response so I was sure we would be well looked after. The landlord was more than welcoming with nothing too much trouble. Our table was laid ready and he was very knowledgeable on the beers he... More

We parked the car in the car park, got managers permission and booked lunch to coincide with our return from a walk to Pilsbury Castle. When we returned we had a very enjoyable lunch and refreshing drink. Good selection of beers, I went for Micks suggestion and was well pleased, my wife equally pleased with his recommendation of Raspberry Cider.... More

We visited here twice , once for refreshments whilst walking - their mango cider was most welcome :-) We then went back in the evening for dinner. There was a large group of us (12) we had booked & pre-ordered our food . We sat by an open fire in a lovely Cosy room . The food was brilliant ,... More

I can recommend the pies here, both the fish pie and the pie of the day too. The staff were friendly and the pies were freshly cooked. I enjoyed a glass of sauvignon blanc too.

Went down on a Thursday evening. We were welcomed by all the staff very warmly. The beer was great, the food delicious and we had a really lovely evening. A better pub would be hard to find! Mick, the owner, even drove us back to our campsite - amazing!
