No need to book, this restaurant offers a walk in service, well managed and efficient, outdoor seating with shelter from the weather, and indoor seating in a lovely old cottage, great atmosphere, owner very friendly and helpful, all COVID19 regulations are applied fairly. Good food...well presented, price in keeping with the local establishments.More

Stopped in for dinner in our only evening in Doolin. Great outdoor setting with heating. Enjoyed the food - we both had fish and chips.

We ate here twice during our short stay in Doolin. The chowder is top notch - I had it both times. The staff are really nice and helpful.

We visited and were excited when we seen how many great reviews this place had. The food was on the more expensive side but was nice, the chowder was lovely. We were all very disappointed by how abrupt, unhelpful and rude the staff were. It...made the experience not very pleasant. When taking our order they seemed to not want to be bothered answering any questions about the food and didn’t want to help with any changes we had requested to make to our meal. The wrong drinks order also came (not a big deal but still). One member of our group had accidentally told a staff member she could take a meal away when another girl in our group wasn’t actually finished. When the member of our group who wasn’t finished her dinner asked if they could have it brought back out they stated it has already been thrown out which she then stated was no problem and could we just order another portion of this as it was our fault we said it could be taken away to begin with. After this the staff member came out and rudely/sharply stated “ you said we could take it away you said I could take it” and when we said it was ok it didn’t matter and apologised for causing the problem to begin with she just walked away. Making the atmosphere slightly uncomfortable. We paid for our meal and left. Lovely food (compliments to the chef) and lovely sitting area outside with lovely lights but not impressed with the staff at all.More

Divine seafood served in a divine location. Well worth the trip for simple seafood dishes served in a tasty manner but without fuss.

Visited The Ivy Cottage whilst staying in Doolin, and it was an absolute highlight of our visit. A gorgeous setting, imaginative and delicious menu and staff that were courteous, charming and totally on the ball. It was just as Covid restrictions allowed indoor dining and...they managed the switch over extremely well. It’s no exaggeration to say I’d visit Doolin again just to dine here.More

We lunched here 2 of the 3 days of our Doolin visit, the food is excellent. We were lucky enough to have great weather so we could dine outdoors.

Visited a couple of weeks ago, we really enjoyed it. Even though it was raining, the outside area was a lovely setting with covered areas & heaters. We ordered fish & chips which was delicious. The only negatives were, that they ran out of lager,...which they apologised for. Also, the only drinks available for children were bottled water or minerals, it would be helpful to parents to provide a cordial option or a jug of water as is the case in most restaurants.More
