Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

My sister and I stopped at The Ivy Cottage when staying in Doolin, hat a great little place! We had coffee and lunch and everything was fabulous. Comfy place to sit and ponder the day, thank you! Sisters from America!

We went to this restaurant twice during our 4 night stay in Doolin. The chowder was delicious and we enjoyed a nice quiet table inside.

Excellent food, friendly service, and no need to wait for a table at 5:00 in the afternoon! The fish chowder was outstanding and the dessert beautifully presented. Would have rated this five except the price point didn’t match the comfort and ambience it offered. Felt...a bit like we were eating at MacDonalds!More

Nice location and we were blessed with beautiful weather, so outdoor dining was pleasant.
Host made everyone welcome but note you can’t book a table so come early.
Nice simple menu and only one dessert on the day, Elton Mess ( lovely).
Toilets could do...with a refresh but were clean.
Only issue was a suspicion that the fish and chips came in contact with shellfish as one of our party was very unwell afterwards ( shellfish allergy).
Will we go back? Yes but one of us will be sticking with a chicken dish.More

The restaurant is in a lovely setting. Service was excellent and the food was delicious. I order the vegetarian option which was one of the tastiest I have ever had. My husband had the chicken dish which was one of the best he'd had all...summer. Lovely local craft beer and cider.More

We arrived just as the kitchen was closing and weren’t sure if we would get a table. I’m so glad that they fit us in because it was one of the nicest meals that I had in a long time. I had the delicious crab...claw starter and we both had the steak for after. Everything was beautifully presented and every mouthful was full of flavour. Well done to the chefs because you could taste their passion for food in each dishes. I applaud you all .More

Lovely spot for lunch in busy little Doolin after walking the Cliffs of Moher. It was tucked in at the end of the street and a bit easy to miss if we hadn’t picked it in advance. The outside garden seating was particularly pleasant. Ordering...was easy, and the service was fast and friendly. My husband and I both had the Atlantic chowder with brown bread. It was delicious with big chunks of salmon. The menu was varied and far better than a pub where you’d likely get fried everything with chips with few other options. Loved it😊More

A great spot with lots of variety! We had lunch and dinner twice at the Ivy Cottage - it was that good!!! High quality food, with amazing taste! We enjoyed the fish and chips (husband says they were the best he's had), goats cheese salad,...the burger and amazing seafood chowder. Friendly staff, beautiful surroundings - we just loved everything about this restaurant.More

It’s a very nice restaurant with a very warm atmosphere. The food is very tasty, fish and chips is fantastic and the corn soup is amazing. The red pepper added to the soup is a touch of genius.
There was a good choice for vegetarians...like me so the place is worth a visit if you visit Doolin.More

Had the seafood chowder and it was the most delicious one we had during our trip to Ireland. Parking is close by on the main street.

Prefer the soup of the day (tomato basil) and the fish of the day (halibut). The halibut was perfectly cooked with leeks and a creamy tomato base and clams. With a side of potato wedges. Was perfect.

Would highly recommend the food in The Ivy Cottage - we had crab claws, chicken and the fish of the day. My daughter had the kids fish and chips. We polished everything off and it was so delicious! Would love to go back.
