Our second visit here after first coming two years ago. As it was New Year’s Day we checked that the restaurant was opened via email and got a very quick response to confirm it was. When we arrived, it wasn’t busy and the food was excellent. I had the soup of the day I’m a husband had the locally caught fish and chips which he said was brilliant Very reasonably priced considering it is the only restaurant/pub that we could find in the local area and I do think it is popular with coach tours but we didn’t see any when we were there we came out of our way especially to come back to this poor person. We feel like it’s a really authentic Irish pub. We would return again.

We stopped here at this cozy Irish pub with our tour bus for the lunch stop and I have to say it was a pleasant surprise. While the menu options were a bit limited, the food itself was absolutely fantastic. The waitresses were warm and hospitable, ensuring we felt right at home. The ambiance and location added to the overall charm of the place. The only downside was, that despite the restaurant being aware of our tour group's schedule, our meals took longer than anticipated, arriving just moments before we had to rush off again. Was a shame that we couldn't properly enjoy the food, but overall, it was a memorable and enjoyable lunch.

We had dinner here July 2024, my wife ordered the salad and I the burger. Service felt quite rushed - we had to indicate we needed another minute to order three times and my plate was cleared from the table while my partner was still eating. The food was nothing special, salad was quite boring (lettuce, tomatoes, walnuts and vinaigrette) and the burger okayish.

My husband and I had a bowl of soup and a pot of tea here today. The total bill came to €22.00. The soup was served with a single small slice of bread between us. The bread arrived cut into two, on a plate, with one knife. The soup was nice, the staff were lovely. And the bar was lovely and warm on a cold, blustery day. But at the price we paid, you really would expect more than half a slice (roughly 2 square inches each) of bread. The bread was lovely though. Would I return. I don't think so. Once Gus O'Connors is opened up again after renovations, I'll be back down for one of their lovely toasted cheese sandwiches and a hot chocolate.

Dear Bean_Limerick Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re delighted to hear that you enjoyed the soup, the warm atmosphere, and the service from our lovely team. However, we’re truly sorry if there was any misunderstanding regarding the portion of bread served with your meal. Each bowl of our homemade soup is served with a slice of our Dooliner brown bread, and we’re always happy to provide more upon request. If our servers accidentally only provided one slice between the two of you, we sincerely apologize for the oversight. We’d love the opportunity to make it up to you and would be delighted to welcome you back for a meal on us—please feel free to reach out at info@hoteldoolin.ie so we can arrange this. Regarding the pricing, just to clarify, one bowl of soup is €8.50, and tea is €3 (or €5 for tea for two), meaning two soups with tea for two come to exactly €22. We strive to offer good value for the quality of our ingredients, and we appreciate your feedback on this. We do feel that a two-star review may be a little harsh given that you enjoyed the food, atmosphere, and service. Our team works hard to create a welcoming experience, and your kind words about them mean a lot. If you feel inclined, we’d be grateful if you would reconsider your rating, as we are always happy to accommodate requests such as extra bread when asked. Thank you again for your feedback, and we do hope to have the pleasure of welcoming you back. Warmest regards, Paul Operations Manager Fitz's Pub, Hotel Doolin

They straight up left money on the table by being so bad at service. We would have ordered three more drinks and dessert but no one seemed to remember we were there. Raw oysters took 35 minutes to come out, we were missing a side, the waiter upsold us on unnecessary sides and then never asked how our meals were. The halibut was amazing. The steak while cooked to temp very well left a lot to be desired for the fat on the edge that had no sear to it. Almost like a prime rib. In a pinch we'd eat there again, but there are better options in town.

Having spent the weekend in lovely Doolin, we decided to go into this hotel for a meal, I opened a white Penio wine, they didn't have any, I ordered water for the table whilst eating our meal only to be told we would have to pay for it as people where complaining that there was a taste from the tap water, so a small Aldi bottle of water was a wopping €3.50 a bottle, what a rip off scandalous outrages, We visited other lovely pubs restaurants over the weekend within a two minute walk from Hotel Doolin (Fitz's ) Their TAP WATER was fine, So we won't be returning The wee chap serving was lovely Robert

Went here today for dinner with my parents and 2 kids. We were told by the waitress the kitchen didn't open until 4pm but to take a seat somebody will take your order when the kitchen opens. 20 mins pass by the 6 of us are the only ones in the restaurant nobody comes near us, they all walked around us looking in opposite directions completely avoiding our table. Other people came in and we're seated and were told the specials, drinks orders taken none of that happened to us. We got fed up and went and asked for someone to come take our order. 30 mins later our food finally arrived even tho people who were seated after us had food and drink orders taken and we're also served theirs we'll before us. This kind of service is just not acceptable. The restaurant was not busy, a big table in the middle of the restaurant surely somebody should approach and ask are we OK has our order been taken?? We had 2 small kids with us and our order was for burgers and chips how long does that take to cook?? My mother's dinner was cold, my child's dinner was also cold but we were so hungry we wernt sending it back to the kitchen. I will never go here again. The main purpose of the restaurant is to serve people and look after them we were not looked after and 2 times were close to leaving only that the food finally arrived and my kids were starving. Much better places to eat in the area.

We stayed in this pub until recently me, my husband and my one and a half year old son. Good food and average price. The waiter who served us very nice but unfortunately for me also counts so much friendliness: the one I assume is the owner of the pub absolutely unavailable, almost annoyed at our questions. Every night there is live music but you can not listen to it if you dine leaving maybe more than 60 €, you can listen to it only by consuming further after dinner and of course leaving the dinner table. Also the room manager Absolutely rude, I think he trimmed the table at the end of the corner because we had a child despite the fact that the place is baby friendly is unbearable in all interactions. We were decided between this and the Mcgann, we definitely got it wrong!

We came just after lunch which was ideal as we are a young family & didn't want to annoy other customers. The restaurant is ideal for families as its less busy and most people like to eat in the bar. Had the seafood chowder and a Guinness, which was filling enough. My partner had the cold seafood platter and liked it. Service was okay, staff could be a bit friendlier and engaging.

Very disappointed with the food service and cleanliness of the pub. Arrived to various area, requested a table for 3. Waitress said oh I will have to check the time it was approximately 3.30. She informed us bar area was closing for food so directed us to the back area. Staff were in middle of clearing and setting up. Gave our order for food and drinks. The water came with 3 piping hot glasses straight from dish washer. No ice... Food arrived, we did not mind waiting. The child meal was burnt and incorrect. Our fish and chips was only ok. Quiet bland. Curry sauce was lovely. Nobody checked on us to see if everything was OK. We went to pay and explained about child meal. Informed a manager would need to speak with us. Waited approx 5 mins. She just said sorry and voided the meal from bill. Overall experience very poor.

Dear GoPLaces, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. I’m very sorry to hear that your experience with us fell short of expectations. We take great pride in providing excellent food, service, and cleanliness, and it’s disappointing to know we didn’t meet those standards during your visit. I sincerely apologize for the issues you encountered, from the initial seating arrangements to the quality of the food and service. It’s particularly concerning that your child’s meal was incorrect and that no one checked in on your table during your meal. This is not the level of hospitality we strive for, and I appreciate you bringing it to our attention. Please know that we have addressed these concerns with our team and conducted the necessary training. Your feedback is invaluable in helping us provide a better experience for all our guests. If you’d be willing, I’d love the opportunity to discuss this further and invite you back so we can make it right. Please email info@hoteldoolin.ie if you wish to do this. Thank you again for your honest review, and I truly hope we get the chance to welcome you again for a much-improved experience. Best regards, Paul Operations Manager

We had a fabuleus evening!! First, the menu is wonderful, and the food is top quality! Our server, Kathe, was second to none. Her attention to detail (we had many requests!) , her energy, and overall welcoming professionalism made our evening all the more memorable. She was impressively engaged with making our experience flawless. It was a special evening for a special group of friends, made even more special by Fitz’s superior service and food.

Very disappointing I wouldn’t recommend anyone entertain this place. We received the dirtiest high chair I have ever seen. We would have left at this stage but as we had young children it was to awkward so we had the chair cleaned. Before we had the chance to read the menu 5 different members of staff asked where we ready to order. We ordered and the food came out in less then 1 minute! The food was average at best and very overpriced for what it was. When paying I was asked if everything was ok, I mentioned one particular item as being especially poor to the waitress and she ignored this completely. I would have been happier with a bag of crisps in the car.

Very poor experience here , had been here approx one year ago and had a poor experience then also but decided to give the benefit of the doubt. Unfortunately it was in fact worse this time than last time. Firstly the lunch menu is very limited, I also had to ask for a kids menu although we clearly had a child with us so I would expect that to be given with our menus. Our food was served before our drinks and I then had to ask for the drinks when our food was almost finished, the drink I had ordered didn’t come so I asked for it for the third time, I never actually got the drink!!!! Staff need far more training than they have and most staff were finding it difficult to understand us although we are Irish!

Recommended lunch stop by our tour guide. Ordered chicken curry with rice and naan bread. I may have ordered a wrong dish as the curry lacked the required flavor depth of Indian cuisine. Tour companions had also mixed level of satisfaction, so basically a hit or miss depending on the mains ordered. The pub though has a great local and vintage feel and oldest in the area of Lahinch, Ireland. Service was fast and courteous…

Hi Larry, Thank you for your review, we are delighted you enjoyed your visit to Fitz's Pub. I will share this with the team. Can we contact you regarding the curry and see if there was an issue with the flavor or was it that Irish Pub curries have to be very mild for the Irish pallet? Hopefully, we can get in contact again and investigate further. All the best,
