With Martin and Koke as our waiters, we began the evening in a great indoor/ outdoor extension of the restaurant surrounded with windows and great ambience. Initially we were told we might have to give up our table when the music was to start, but our waiter Martin got to know us and decided we would be good to have hang around. ;-) We had lobster, salmon, and other great food to go with our traditional Guinness and cider. When the music started we knew we had come to the exact right place. Traditional Irish music by Brian, Conner, and Aiden — flute, concertina, and guitar— was incredible! They were so personable, as was all the staff. A perfect evening!

We stayed at Fiddle + Bow which is the hotel adjoining Russell’s, and we probably spent almost every night at least in there for a pint or cocktail. The look is absolutely beautiful and natural, the history behind many of the bars, furniture pieces and floors, tables and chairs, was fascinating! Darrin, the manager was one of the most amazing people we had met, he showed us around the bar, made sure we had everything we needed, as we were having our reception dinner there. The menu and food were AMAZING, I don’t even like Lamb and I came back and ordered theirs!!! The cocktails were made the exact same way whether you were on your 1st or 4th, they came garnished the same each time! Breakfast which was a part of something we paid for at Fiddle + Bow each morning was served in Russell’s with an amazing Buffett with pastry, fresh fruit salad, juice, cereal, and then each person was able to order a fresh cooked breakfast from the menu in addition. They had a group of 18 of us, and a lot of the time it was all of us at once and I never felt we had to wait for food or service! We couldn’t have been happier with our reception as well as the food and drinks at Russell’s! It’s a must eat at place in Doolin, and if you are staying at Fiddle + Bow, you must choose to partake in their breakfast!

This was one of the best restaurants my family and I visited during our 4 day trip to Ireland. The staff was friendly and attentive, but the food was absolutely outstanding! They source all local ingredients and the furthest thing on the menu (the Brie) appetizer was from a farm only an hour away. The lamb I ordered was reared 10km from the restaurant and prepared beautifully. It was slow roasted, tender, and wonderfully spiced. Their vegetables and potatoes were so fresh, they hardly need any butter or salt and pepper. They actually tasted different from the USA. Martin, Faith and Koko were awesome and took time to give us recommendations for the local area, a bit of history of the property, and where the food they serve comes from. They are proud to serve local meat and produce, but most importantly work as a team to make your dining experience more enjoyable. This is also a great place if you have children who are picky eaters. Mine wanted an extra fried chicken breast because it was so juicy and tender inside but had an amazing crunch on the outside. He cleared his entire plate,which is rare for him, and still wanted another. All in all, one of the best dinners we have had in a long time and we are contemplating booking another trip to Doolin just to visit again! Thank you to the wonderful staff for creating amazing food with an amazing atmosphere and providing us with an amazing family dining experience!

We had made reservations for dinner and were seated promptly. The meal was very good. I had lamb and my husband had the sea bass. However service was terrible. A minute after we were seated a waiter asked us for our food order. Never asked if we wanted drinks which we did order with our food. We waited a long time for our food. The table next to us was seated after us and finished their meal before we got ours. No one ever came to check on how our meal was once we got our food. We had planned on having dessert but due to the poor service we had dessert at another restaurant down the street.

Traveling from Galway to the Cliffs of Moher we found ourselves looking for a spot to get some lunch. We happened upon Russells Seafood Bar and without knowing a thing about it we found great parking and a fairly quiet dining room with a warm and inviting ambiance.
The dining room menu had a mouth watering amount of options to suit our group of six and so did the drink/cocktail menu. We ordered the calamari starter and a variety of main dishes, all of them delicious and beautifully plated.
The hotel in which Russells is in also looked like a wonderful jumping off point for exploring the coastal region between Galway to the north and Cliffs of Moher to the south.

I could not leave a more glowing review for this restaurant. We are in Ireland for our honeymoon, and decided to walk into Russell’s Seafood Bar on a whim.
From the moment we entered, we were greeted enthusiastically by a wonderful host named Darren. He had us laughing from start to finish.
Our waiter James was nothing short of fantastic, recommending the lamb shoulder that would become one of the best things I may have ever eaten at a restaurant.
Juraj, another phenomenal member of the staff, had our glasses full the entire time and kept us laughing wholeheartedly.
Once again, I cannot recommend this restaurant enough. Take my word for it and go.

I had the pleasure of staying at Fiddle + Bow Hotel, so I able to visit Russells daily for breakfast and some dinners. I thoroughly enjoyed my experience. Breakfast had a great breakfast bar and hot breakfast options. I also attended for a wedding reception dinner and was very impressed with the lamb shoulder. Service and drinks were great. The staff was very friendly and so very accommodating to offer a cold breakfast selection to me at 4am before heading to the airport. It's that thoughtfulness that makes this location special. Hands down, a great place to stop if you are in the Doolin area.

We chose this place because of the good revies. We won't be back. The quality of the food was good but it was so loud we couldn't have a decent conversation. Where I was sat I kept getting bumped by other customers and waitstaff walking behind me. The waiter didn't listen to my husband so he ended up with a starter for his main instead of the special. We all decided we wanted a pudding. We ordered the chocolate fondent and Lime possett but we all really wanted creme brulee. After our puddings arrived they crossed out what we had ordered and put creme brulee on the dessert menu. It looks nice but everything is rushed and frantic and not conducive to a relaxing meal. If you want to talk to your dining companions this is not the place to go. The staff are friendly as they hurry you along to get you out for the next group.

So impressed!! Dropped in on a whim while in Doolin, had such a great experience went back the next night. The bartenders Koke & Davor were awesome. They gave us lessons on Irish whiskey & treated us with phenomenal service. We even happened in as the kitchen was closing and they convinced them to make us some fish n chips (wonderful, especially with Koke’s spanish vinegar).
Extremely knowledgeable about the whiskeys, great laid-back atmosphere & such fun traditional music. We voted it best spot in Doolin. Hope to be back!!!

From meeting Seamus when we entered the evening flowed with excellent service, great wine recommendations from the barman. Can see the working kitchen and it’s all hands on deck providing seamless service. Offering up fantastic tasty freshly cooked food. 5 Stars all around. Thanks very much.

This is the second time we've been travelling across Ireland for 10 days each. We had the best dinner in Ireland at Russell's Seafood Bar. For starters, we had mussels in an exceptionally good lemongrass and coconut sauce. The shoulder of lamb was braised as soft as butter with perfectly prepared vegetables.
The restaurant has a special atmosphere which the staff create with their very friendly and relaxed manner.
10 out of 10 points. It couldn't be better.

Our first night in Doolin we chose Russel's for dinner. Being on the coast we craved seafood. They did not disappoint. The Boulibase was fanfeckingtastic. So much seafood in it and even more flavor. The oysters were briny and meaty. An explosion of flavor for sure. Everything we had was straight up delicious.
Service was spot on as well. They made us feel at home and it was a great way to enjoy dinner after a stressful day of driving.

Exceptional in all the right places! James, Juraj, and Darán made us feel welcome and took great care of us! The cocktails were well made - Mojitos & Clover Club. Our appetizers of mussels and oysters had our complete attention. We all kept passing tastes of our mains of Grilled Seabass, Bouillabaisse, and Lamb Shoulder to one another, because everything was so excellent! Finally, we shared a delicious dessert and Coffee Espresso Martinis. Simply, everyone left with smiles and lingering compliments of gratitude! I couldn’t give a higher recommendation! Thank you to all the staff & the chef!!

We had dinner for four on St Patrick's day and we were blown away by the food, the staff and the beautiful surroundings in the restaurant. Food is of the highest standard, absolutely perfectly cooked and delicious. Great selection on the menu, great wine list and excellent bar.
The staff are truly brilliant, so professional and friendly with exceptional service. Do yourself a favour and pay a visit, you will love this place. Highly recommended.

Another treasure in the charming village of Doolin. The core part of the village offers several pubs, cafes, restaurants. Russells is one of the restaurant that offers casual during the day and more “formal” intimate dinning at night. We came across Russells as we were trying to find a place to join the locals during the hurling championship game. The restaurant was not yet open but, the take out fish bar was serving so we enjoyed their fish and chips for lunch. After lunch, the manager of the restaurant created a viewing space outdoors for the guest lingering. We enjoyed the game with several dedicated fans and in the late afternoon, an early dinner. The food, service and everyone were amazing. Of course, the game outcome was also in favor of the local team. It was a win-win for all.
