OAR is a wonderful dining experience. I won’t try to be a culinary wordsmith to describe how great it is; but it is great. Fresh, Vibrant, and Delicious; brought to you by the friendliest. Go there.
The staff, the food, the atmosphere, everything was great, we got beef and pork, and they were truly delicious, portion sizes were good, great range of wines and all the little extras made a really lovely experience. A little pricer than we'd usually go, but...the whole experience was worth it. Thank you for a great evening, we will definitely recommendMore
We went here based on recommendation and it didn’t disappoint. We had three courses. It was delicious and our wine too! Forgot to take photo of dessert, sorry. P.s. Doolin is a lovely village to visit.
Three weeks ago we had a special family birthday celebration in Oar Restaurant.
From the minute we arrived to our departure it was excellent.
We were greeted by a very friendly lady in the lobby and were then brought to our table which was perfectly...situated for our group of 8. The food and wine were exceptional together with the service. Nothing was a problem and everyone felt very comfortable as we had a few 'fussy' diners in our group. We are still raving about it and are planning a return visit soon. Thank you Kieran and all your staff for making the occasion extra special. It was definitely the best dining experience ever !More
Another excellent meal at the Oar last night. It was great to see the stellar cauliflower risotto back on the menu. The lamb I had for mains was perfectly cooked, as were the seasonal vegetables. The 2019 Cornas we had was full of fruit but...still wonderfully smooth. A Michelin star is surely just a question of time.More
Look no further for a warm welcome and fantastic food. We've travelled the world and eaten in some amazing places, but simply delighted to find this little gem. Care respect and attention to detail is paid to every element of each dish. Pure harmony and...deliciousness on each plate. Thank you for a surprisingly wonderful evening.
Our advice to all. is don't hesitate - choose this restaurant you will have no regrets just great memories!More
The hugely positive reviews on trip advisor made me want to book this restaurant. From the moment I engaged with Kieran I knew we wouldn't be disappointed. Kieran and Roxy are so professional in a really relaxed way. This restaurant is all about the food...and service. Kieran was so attentive and friendly. He poured me a couple of choices of wine and I chose my favourite which was a lovely start. The menu suited all our tastes and each course was one better than the other. The paté and smoked salmon to start were delicious served with warm freshly baked bread. The duck and rib eye were both excellent and I'm still dreaming about our desserts :). The blackcurrant souffle was melt in your mouth and the orange chocolate cheesecake is the best cheesecake we have ever tasted. From start to finish you couldn't fault one thing. The setting, the atmosphere, the menu, the food and the people Roxy and Kieran were the icing on the cake. Thank you for giving us such a memorable experience and we look forward to returning with some of our friends.More
