Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

It was fine. Same ol' same ol'. Could use a bit of creativity in the menu. Staff was pleasant. Hard to screw up fish and chips. Just getting tired of fish and chips is all. Came in for lamb but they didn't have any. Cozy...atmosphere.More

Local Irish food is done really great here! I recommend the fish stew, extremely fresh, made with only local ingredients! Waiter/bartender, is very kind, and easy to offer suggestions. He lights up, when you ask him what his favorites are, and not those have become...my favorites! Enjoy!More

My partner and I visited for drinks and the live music on Boxing Day. Really great vibe, music was great and the staff were super fast and friendly. Highly recommend for drinks and live music (I think most nights from 9pm?).

Located only about 4 minutes walk down the road from our room at "Oar Restaurant and Rooms". The pub was full but we have managed to get two seats at the counter. McDermott's Pub offers traditional Irish food, good beer and a happy atmosphere. And...we were happy. Recommended.More

From the moment you walk in, you feel at home. The atmosphere is really good - regretfully we only came for lunch so missed the music The Irish beef stew was fantastic as was the chicken curry - so good in fact that we came...back the next day again - this time I had the roast beef which was wonderful and plentiful, so much in fact that I took the remaining beef home for dinner Staff are brilliant and friendlyMore

My wife and I visited McDermott’s Pub on a cool, rainy night the first evening of our week-long vacation. If I could repeat that night over and over again, I would. McDermott’s was warm and welcoming. It was a Friday night, so there was a...full house, but the drinks came quickly and the food arrived hot. I ordered the Beef Stew and have been missing it ever since. The stew was rich, hearty, and by far the best stew of the trip. The atmosphere in McDermott’s is warm, welcoming, and the cure for what ails you. You can’t beat stopping in for a nice pint, good listen, and warm meal.More

We called in for a drink and lunch. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. There were 3 of us and we all enjoyed our meals. You could see straight away it was fresh and cooked to perfection. The service was excellent and we can...highly recommend this pub. In fact when we met some visitors from America outside we did! Thanks for a lovely meal and great company!More

Went to this amazing FAMILY pub for our 25th Wedding Anniversary. The food was BRILLIANT all homemade even the tartar sauce. Fintan, Laura and all the bar staff great. Patsy the owner is known as the Queen of Doolin. I witnessed first hand why she...is. The Hostesss with the mostest. Leads from the front, and spoke to every table welcoming them to Doolin. The local musicians was the end to a perfect day. Thank you Patsy and all your staff for making memories for me and all my family. 💚More

Maybe this was like Yogi Berra…”no one goes there because it’s too crowded.” The place was packed and everyone was having a good time, so I think this is considered a great place to go. Food was decent, and servers were very friendly, but they...were way overwhelmed. We order a second round before food came and we had completely finished before it showed up. Then we waited and waited to pay until someone came by and said we should just go to the bar with our table number (how we’re we supposed to know that?) and even then, it was so packed that it took nearly 10 mi it’s to get someone to take our money! Still…all in all seemed like a fun place if you want a packed to the gills bar experience (and the music hadn’t even started yet!)More

We visited McDermott's during our 2017 visit, and we had to return. We were not disappointed. The food was delicious. The service was fantastic, and to top it off the music was fantastic.

I believe so. My son is a vegetarian and opted for three appetizers/sides all of which he enjoyed. I do believe there are vegetarian meal options as well.
