We stopped here on a cold and rainy day with some friends from overseas. They loved the charm of this old pub.....and so did we. The lunch menu was small, soup or a sandwich, or both!! We thought this was funny and great! We all had the soup and sandwich, and all enjoyed our food. It's a great little place,... More

Simple lunch but hit the spot. We had soup and sandwiches. For once I felt like I didn't have more good sitting in front of me than I could eat in two meals. Service was quick.

We stopped for dinner en route from Galway to Westport with 2 kids who were looking for fish n chips...it serves them but it was not a culinary highlight. The service was lukewarm and the bar was fairly quiet with only two other people in on the evening in question. I would probably not choose to stop there on my... More

Planned lunch stop for tour group. Plates of sandwiches (content unknown) and cups of soup helped us warm up and revive our spirits. But first we had to figure out where to sit (the locals like to hang their wet jackets from the backs of empty chairs) and whether the Boil Water alert should be a warning (it was fine!).

We ate several Times at this pub while visiting Connemara, and it is a nice place where you can eat some good food: fish chowder, mussels... and the staff is friendly.
