Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Every time I travel to a costal location, I make sure to have the chowder, since first tried in San Francisco. And I can certify this as the best one I've ever had...! Ever! (So far). Staff are super friendly and made us feel welcomed....Chips and sandwiches look great, and are super fresh, try the garlic chips. Great cozy diner! If you come to Donegal, do stop by! Mandatory!More

Being a lover of chowder my husband and I decided to try here after reading reviews on trip advisor. We were not disappointed. Shown promptly to our table, friendly service and the chowder was amazing!!! Generous portion size and very tasty. Highly recommend.

Easily the best seafood chowder I’ve had. Veggie soup also awesome. Even the chips are gorgeous! Fewer places to eat in Dunfanaghy since before lockdown - so glad Lizzie’s still here.

Lovely food, but service should be improved, waiting 30 min for apple pie and ice cream .... Asked by few staff members what was ordered?!.. Busy place, no chance for quiet dinner

Fun, friendly, wonderful food in a comfy environment. The seafood chowder and seafood linguine were excellent; even the salad was delicious. Service with a smile and a great price. What more could you ask for. We'll be back!

I attended the diner with my husband and three children yesterday (23rd). We were escorted to the bar area, which is attached to the diner, and given menu's. Ten minutes later no one had approached us to see if we needed a drink or were...ready to order. In the meantime the young lady at the bar was having a very long conversation with another lady who I assume was her friend. My daughter walked up to the bar to ask for a glass of water and was told 'I will be with you in a minute'. The bartender continued on with her personal conversation. Two minutes later she was still talking to her friend so we left. Absolutely horrendous service. We have been to the diner before and had no issues so we were extremely disappointed.More

We had dinner here on two nights during our stay in Dunfanaghy. The seven of us thoroughly enjoyed our meals and the staff were brilliant. Despite being so busy they always made sure we were all happy with our choises. Great service and food.

Have been a regular in Lizzie’s for many years and have always been happy with the service and quality of the food until tonight - staff were as friendly and helpful as always however the menu has stunk since out last visit as has the...quality of the food - it’s now more a upmarket chipper rather than the diner of old. Very little fresh or grilled items on the menu. My partner has the burger and I had the steak, both were well presented however the steak was fatty and the chips serve with both dishes were luke warm. We shared a desert, apple pie - which was mass produced and nothing like the deserts of old. Overall we were very disappointed with the food and Will think twice before returning which is sad as Lizzie’s has always been our go to place when in Dunfanaghy. Also dinner is served till 8pm on week nights and 8:30pm at weekend which is also seems strange for a restaurant in a busy tourist town in high season.More
