Beautiful food. Almost everything was absolutely delicious, can’t really pick anything out because we ate the menu! Long live The Cove!

Just had a very good meal at The Cove. Service was excellent and the food was delicious. We shared 3 of the larger dishes between the 2 of us and with a side of chips this was ample. The apricot and frangipani tart was lovely.

It was a little tricky making a booking as no reply was received from Facebook page or from the email address. Eventually I was able to contact Peter directly by telephone and he was very accommodating, though wouldn’t entertain me bringing a cake to have...at the end to celebrate my mother’s birthday. Anyway, it’s a very pleasant setting and our seat offered a great view. I was unaware it was a Tapas restaurant so initially help was needed to establish exactly what the menu was offering. We ordered a range of small dishes to share for starters but had to ask for side plates as only the plated food was presented…a little strange. Of these the Crab/Prawn toast was lovely though the Calamari was well over cooked and rubbery. Bigger dishes included the Korean chicken which was quite good, though the Lamb Kofta & Cassoulet was much less palatable. The service to be honest wasn’t great from the young staff who lacked a uniform or identity. All done in an hour and 10 mins. Unfortunately didn’t really get the experience that I was expecting.More

Had dinner while on holiday in the area. Beautiful setting and views. Lovely cosy contemporary interior made for nice ambience. Service was excellent and unpretentious- the waiting staff were all very good at their jobs and very attentive. Food was beautiful, the menu was thoughtful...and lots of variety. we tried 5 dishes between 2 and all were delicious. Wine list was good. Had the dark chocolate and raspberry roulade for the dessert and it was lovely. Couldn’t fault the restaurant, food or staff and would definitely go again if I was back in the area.More

In these uneasy times of Covid, hats off to Peter for providing such a fine dining alternative to the usual restaurant layouts/offerings. Substantial work has been put into reinventing the rear of this restaurant into a wee open-air gem. The menu selection has something for...everybody…the Korean chicken caught me by the heel…everything about the Cove just hit the right notes…service was not wanting either. Well done Peter, wish you continued success…we’ll be back!More

Booked in advance as we heard it can be busy , chatting with the friendly owner over the phone. Arrived last Saturday evening, damp night but all that disappeared as soon as we walked in the door. Cosy warm atmosphere with comfortable seating greeted us...along with the chatty owner again. The menu has something for everyone, and the tapas style plates were excellent. Produce was clearly fresh, clever mixes of herbs and spices from afar we were not expecting, marvellous. Staff were young, but you’d swear they had silver service training - hats off to them. Restaurant v busy , but they were slick in plating tables, no drama, bravo folks. It’s a restaurant offering a very different dinner experience in the area and much needed if you want other than normal fare. The locals are lucky to have such a place on their doorstep. This restaurant wouldn’t be out of place with any other big hitter restaurants in a big city elsewhere. Highly recommended.More

We had a great evening here with our two daughters. Peter is extremely attentive to all his guests and makes a wonderful Maitre d. The food is tapas style but generous. Every dish was delicious and reasonably priced. Do order the chocolate caramel cake!

We were at The Cove on Friday night with friends. We sat outside under umbrellas which was lovely. We all had a selection of tapas from their menu and they were really delicious. The menu is mouthwatering and so hard to choose from!! The wine...list is very good and well priced and they also serve very nice non-alcoholic beer for drivers. Service was excellent and the owners were there and chatted with diners which gave a very personal touch. All in all I would say a delicious meal, great service and very well priced. We will definitely be back.More

Visited here on a recent trip to Dunfanaghy! Loved the fresh simple food on offer. We choose a number of tapas plates from the prawns to the falafel to the pork belly. My fav was the buffalo mozzarella salad! :) Everything was delicious, including the...house wine. The desserts were yum too and the kids loved tasting new dishes but their favorite were the chicken wings! We will be back for sure!More

Absolutely fantastic faultless fresh food. Service was brilliant and the presentation of each dish was 1st class. We arrived and were seated shortly after and our service was honestly faultless. Each dish was presented perfectly and despite us ordering numerous dishes, all were served piping...hot and with what were obviously fresh ingredients. Highly recommended and a good selection of wine and beers too.More

Small plate style, modern, colourful cooking. Tempura shrimp light, Korean chicken unique (in a good way). Lamb kofta slightly dry but good flavours. Crab taco, bowl style with cold meat. Outdoor dining only. Booking would be preferable but managed to get a table for the...last sitting around 8:15pm. Food arrived swiftly.More

Lovely outdoor dining space. The owners have done a fantastic job adapting to current circumstances. The food is delicious. Tapas style . Two dishes per person plus desert is about right. In particular the Korean chicken, lamb kofta, tempura prawns and salads were excellent. Service...was very nice .. friendly but efficient. Best place we ate during our week in Donegal. Highly recommended.More

It's an intimate space over two floors so it's difficult to say possibly 30-40? But they will be happy to advise I am sure!
