Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I have visited Poppies on several occasions and a really nice establishment it truly is …… BUT guys please rectify FULL breakfast items ie two bacon two sausage two eggs and half the plate covered by two large slices of sourdough toast for 12.50 ……...I appreciate costs have risen re ingredients etc but you are better than this ……. When someone orders a Full Irish they expect a Full Irish ……. Peter don’t let the competition take your customers away ……More

We stopped here with our tour group for lunch. When you arrive, you place your order. They have several of food options available in their glass case. A good variety of food is available. We ordered the Blueberry Pancakes and Shepherd's Pie, which came with...3 different types of salads. Very filling and reasonably priced. They deliver the food to your table. The quiche looked very good, as well as several pastry items. I would recommend this restaurant.More

Overly priced breakfast. Two sausage and rashers for 16 euro. It’s called full Irish but nothing full about it. No mushrooms, tomatoes , pudding. I asked to takeaway the scraps for the dog and was thrown a box. I asked the girl to do it....She then be grudgingly handed me the box with the lid still open. There is no table service so the staff have a real hands off approach. Never again, make your own coffee, pre payed food. The only thing was my overtime sheet.More

We went back to Poppies after an absence of some years. How the standards have dropped. Our quiche was hard, tough, stale and inedible. The rhubarb crumble lacked any taste of rhubarb. Looking around at other diners, many of them were leaving their meals unfinished....Not at all like the Poppies of old.More

Poppies truly is a ‘little gem’! Nestled in the picturesque village of Enniskerry no visit to Wicklow is complete without popping in here for refreshments. I visited again yesterday after some time away & I was not disappointed. The food is as delicious as ever...& the staff absolutely excellent. We were a group of four & got there at lunchtime after a very long hike so we were in need of a good feed! It was very busy but the service was highly efficient & friendly, Lily & Rose in particular. Indeed the staff are constantly smiling & this lends itself to a really genuinely welcoming atmosphere. The 3 friends I was with had never been here before & they loved it. Nicely done Poppies…..we’ll be back!More

Such a cozy place with delicious food. The rhubarb crumble with ice cream was one of a kind. Big portions of delicious pies and tea. Great place!

Very little chicken in the Chicken and Mushroom pie. Unappetising salads to accompany dishes and very little selection for vegetarians despite lovely looking dishes in abundance being advertised online. Staff were not very friendly and I found one in particular sharp and unhelpful. Also ,...water on the dresser was quite warm and the plastic cups were not dried properly. Poor standard overall and will not be recommending.More

Albeit slightly biased - anywhere in Ireland that is dog friendly automatically gets four stars. The fifth star is for the outstanding selection of food, the soup and home made bread was delightful as was the ham and cheese toastie. Super friendly staff and even...at busy times plenty of room to sit. Loved it!More

Poppies seemed popular when we arrived, plenty of people around and both indoor and outdoor seating. The food looked inviting and the cakes and coffee were very good indeed. This was our third visit to Poppies and it’s very consistent. My only negative comment is...that the staff always seem grumpy, not rude or anything like that, just in bad form and it always feels like that. I assume it’s because they are always quite busy and they do appear to work very hard but a smile and a welcome doesn’t cost anything.More
