Food lukewarm. chips overcooked. Vol au vents soggy. no wine list. This is a hotel? draught every time door opened. Wine reasonable.

mary's veg curry was the finest but my lamb roast was very fatty and the plain veg felt reheated. apple pie and custard made up for it though.
Good food. Very reasonable price. The portions were generous. Great friendly service. Highly recommended.
As always the food is excellent and the staff are professional and very accommodating. The portions are always a good size and the service is prompt.
We visited Birr in March for a weekend. On the Friday night we ate at the coachouse (Doolys) . There is a great menu with something to suit everyone and great service. We enjoyed it so much we returned on the Saturday evening too.
We were at the Coachouse Bar yesterday evening for drinks and dinner. Although the place was very busy we didn’t have to wait too long. Service was quick and very friendly. Sirloin steak and Burger were good.
Although the pub was quite full because of the world cup half final England against Croatia we were served within 20 minutes. The food was fine with a friendly service.
While in Birr we ate there on two occasions without any issues the service and the food was fine and decent size portions enjoyed the experience
We visited for food on a Sunday evening 7pm. 2 adults and 3 children. There was a great menu with a superb choice. Service was prompt and food was cooked to order. The children had word searches, colouring etc provided to keep them occupied while...waiting for their food. The presentation, taste and flavours of the food really was a step above bar food. The waitress was friendly and checked with us on 3 separate occasions to see if we needed anything. Deserts were amazing and obviously home made. The menu was reasonably priced which was also a bonus. I'd highly recommend the Coachouse for quality food in a relaxed setting.More
For most evenings during my stay in Birr I eat here. The food was consistently excellent. With friendly staff and comfortable surroundings you couldn't go wrong.
On a cold wintry day it was a lovely warm venue for lunch .. Lots of seating and a busy venue . Staff are very friendly and menu is reasonably priced .
We visited the restaurant at Doolys hotel for a family Sunday lunch. We all agreed that the meal and service was faultless from start to finish. The starters were well presented, delicious and just the right size before the main course. The turkey and ham...and the beef were superbly cooked and full of flavour. My eldest daughter had salmon with a sauce to die for. The side dishes included vegetables - cooked to perfection and fill of local flavour. Two different types of potatoes were provided which ensured we only just had room for dessert. Eton mess ice cream was one of four sweet treats we all enjoyed! A superb Sunday lunch and one we can't wait to come to Doolys again for. Well done to Doolys for bringing great value and quality to Birr.More
I have been a regular in Dooly's now since I moved to Birr under one year ago. I must admit, my personal favourite is the lasagna - I have never had a lasagna quite as good as Dooly's. It is absolutely amazing, proportioned perfectly with...a large side of gorgeous chips, 2 large sides of garlic bread and a scrumptious generous portion of salad on the side. I am never disappointed when I leave Dooly's. The staff are very efficient and go above and beyond to do their best for you no matter what time of the day you land in at. Keep doing what you are doing with your portions & your prices Dooly's ye are fantastic!!More
Called in for a pint , waited at the bar only to be ignored totally by the bar staff, they waited for the "regulars" to finish their pint to serve them. Then take their bets, what a joke. Couldn't be more annoyed, Sort yourselves out,...you need all tradeMore
We went here for lunch. I ordered from the more substantial lunch menu, but after enquiring whether more 'dainty' (for the want of a better word) options existed, the sandwich menu was produced, from which the persons accompanying me ordered. The food was fine. The...sandwiches were apparently very pleasing. I had some variety of pie. It was not too bad although there were masses of boiled vegetables and potatoes with it which could be cut down by at least half. It seemed busy with locals (elderly mostly) which is a good sign I suppose in some respect.More
