Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

My experience here was nothing short of appalling. I arrived to have a few drinks outside in the fine weather with friends. After sitting down with my second drink I was approached by the owner of the business who instantly began to harass me and...making accusations that were completely false. Before I had a chance to deny the accusations that had just been made against he stormed away. When asked to come and apologise to me the unprofessionalism continued. These accusations were made against me due to the fact I work for the business across the road. I left immediately and was horrified by my experience here. This is the example the owner of the business is setting for his staff. As a 20 year old girl I did not appreciate being shouted at by a grown man.More

Stopped in for Dinner / Tea on Monday last. Place looks great but the Food didn't match decor. Had peri peri chicken which came out like poor sandwich with vacum packet flavourless chicken.

Ate here recently with our kids. Mix up with the order, drinks, etc but these things happen. Waiting staff are young and friendly but the food is appalling. No way is there a chef cooking here at the moment. We used to come here annually...when visiting Bunratty for Halloween/Christmas and it was always very good. Very disappointing downfall. Food was bland, tasteless, poor quality and utterly unsatisfactory for the price.More

Other eating places round and a bought, we thought it worth a try. Not disappointed, my wife being Irish and her friend, had the bacon and cabbage, real Irish dish. Me I had the lamb shank, no complaints and very reasonable prices. If I lived...in Ireland and was in the area would go back again.More

I asked the waiter about the Minute Steak used in a steak sandwich and misunderstood; regardless the steak was very tough and stringy. I told them I'd like to order something else, and the manager essentially yelled at me in front of everyone and refused...to take it back. For some stupid reason, I decided to just order (and also pay for) the burger. That was terrible, too. I've never had a restaurant experience that was this bad, which is saying something.More

So called burger and ‘Cajun’ chicken deplorable. No chef working here. Nice premises and pleasant staff but should not be allowed to sell ‘food’.

Two of us called in to the Creamery Restaurant for Sunday lunch. We were shown to a nice table with a view of the other diners. We started with glasses of French Wine. I had the SCAMPI with MASHED POTATOES and C had the FISH...AND CHIPS with chips. For Desserts, I had the old fashioned JELLY AND ICE CREAM and C had the RHUBARB CRUMBLE. We then had a generous POT OF TEA. The ambience was wonderful, the staff were most helpful and we plan to return to The Creamery soon.More

This was really disappointing. I really expected better from this restaurant but maybe due to its location in Bunratty the standards may have dropped because they know they will have footfall in the door with tourists regardless. I used to be a chef so I...know a bad chef when I see what they serve on a plate and this chef is either not a qualified chef or has seriously fallen out of love with cooking and if this is being overlooked by management then they have a lot to answer for. My potatoes were so dry and obviously sitting in the kitchen for hours because even looking at the pictures you would think it was cauliflower on the plate and to taste them can only be described as tasting chalk. My veg was overcooked and really soft and the bacon must have been heated in a microwave because it was roasting for a few minutes then tasting like something that had been sitting out all day. My wife got served reheated chips and there is no way they can say otherwise. The only thing they got right here are the waitresses they had working there today and I even felt bad communicating about the potatoes and chips because they were so friendly and if this is the standard of the food they have to serve, then I wouldn't be surprised if they were afraid to relay my thoughts. Brutal cook/chef but friendly waitresses.More

Very disappointed with the service here this evening. Seven of us arrived down for food and were met with a grumpy waiter. We were chatting away at the table and we were made uncomfortable even though we were the only two groups in the restaurant....Not a place for hospitality. Bad experience over all. would not recommend to anyoneMore

My husband ordered the chowder which was more of a vegetable soup with added fish, as it cooled down there was an unusal taste from it. I ordered the cajun chicken. The chicken itself was cooked nicely but cold cajum sauce was layeres over it. 3...kids meals were of poor to average quality. All of our chips were undercooked. On a positive, all the staff were well mannered, helpful and friendly. The restaurant itself was decorated lovely for xmas and the bathrooms were spotlessMore

We have been going to the creamery bar and restaurant for years, In the last 2 years we have visited three times and today was our last! We ordered Turkey and ham thinking surely we couldn’t go wrong and how wrong we were! The gravy...was black and lumpy the ham was inedible the Turkey was like rubber mash covered in pepper and still red hot from the microwave all the food was Cleary yesterdays food and just thrown into the microwave and warmed up. For the desert we decided to go for profiteroles as it was always good on all our previous visits but today you could clearly taste onions and other food on the profiteroles they were obviously left in the fridge and not covered. When we went to the counter to pay we weren’t even asked was everything ok we didn’t even complain we just paid and left. I know that all businesses are going through tough times with covid and everything but restaurants like the creamery need to realise people work hard for their money and when they go out to a restaurant they expect good food not yesterdays food warmed up in a microwave show a bit of respect for your customers.More

Decent food, except for the coleslaw. My friend ate her pizza with a knife, and unfortunately for society at large, they did not shame her. I'm only sharing this because she'll probably read it. The beer is cold and this is a great spot to...stop off after touring the castle next door.More
