Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Thanks so much to Paul, Celine, Bobby, Michelle and all the amazing staff at the Esquire / Raglan Road for their outstanding hospitality and unbelievable service to the community over COVID and beyond. Paul, your food is undeniable fantastic quality with huge selection of specials that are always so fresh and change on a daily basis. Your take away menu was a blessing during COVID and the prices were a real sign how much you appreciated local business; I never saw value like it. I am so thrilled that you’re back open and we can sit in such style and comfort and enjoy your hospitality in beautiful surroundings. Felt very safe and assured with all the social distance restrictions, staff very highly trained and super organised which made the visit hassle free. Thanks so much for all you do, All the best, The Treacy Family

My wife and I visit Tramore on a very regular basis and often with friends or family. We eat in this restaurant all the time and cannot recommend it highly enough. It's like a olde-world style pub with loads of artifacts but the hidden secret is the food. It is as good as it gets. The steaks are the best we've had anywhere but make sure you're hungry - they're big, chunky and delicious. The service is second to none either. All of the staff, without exception, are very welcoming, humorous, friendly and so efficient - they leave no stone unturned to ensure you have a great dinning (& drinking) experience. We had been told that the food here could be 'hit and miss' but that's a load of nonsense. It's been a big 'HIT' for us and our guests every time without fail. Couldn't recommend it highly enough.

We love the Raglan in Tramore and keep coming back again and again. It has a great atmosphere and plenty of cosy snugs to get lost in for a few hours. The staff are very welcoming and friendly.
The food is top class and if you are a lover of sea food you won't find better. Also i highly recommend the garlic potato skins and the 2 steak dinners for €30.00.
Overall one of my favourite places to eat and drink can't say any better then that.

We arrived on spec on a busy BH Saturday night but the professional manager and staff still managed to accommodate us! 🙂
The place was heaving and I can see why. Quirky decor, excellent staff and really great value is what you will experience here. We were shown into a lovely bar with menus while we waited. Lovely fire lit the space and a drink was in hand quickly while we chose from a comprehensive menu. Lots of fish and meat options to the fore but you’ll find lovely alternatives too, the menu runs to 3 pages of mains!
Once seated the buzz of a busy room was nice, although we were offered a quieter alcove space if we wanted that. He has lots of more private spaces due to the design of the premises but you will encounter steps.
Food arrived and portions were generous and the standard excellent.
If it’s a couples night, you won’t be disappointed!
If it’s a group, the larger space gives a great buzz.
If it’s a group with members who can’t manage steps then book a table at the front.
Overall we were well impressed, the quality of the ingredients were allowed to shine and it was excellent value too. Highly recommended when here in the south east!

We recently stayed on family holiday in tramore. We visited Raglan road for a family evening meal. The atmosphere, staff & food was extremely of high standard. The owner Paul welcomed us & made us feel very much at home. As a result we ate there several times during our stay. It is very hard to pick a favourite dish but I would highly recommend stir fry, seafood chowder, sea food platter & fillet steak to name but a few. I would highly recommend visiting this restaurant & can’t wait for our return. Well done again to all 💯👏

When you walk into a place and repeatedly ask if you can sit in the bar to be told no you can sit here you know it’s going to be a bad experience.
So sitting in the restaurant where we did not want to sit. Clearly asked to sit in bar on big long seat so our 2 year old could sit beside us to be told you can have a high chair for her to again ask to be seated in the bar area on the big chairs to be told no again and to be told she will sit in a high chair.
So then left for I’d say 20 mins before a girl came to take the order food only and I’d to call her just before she left the table to tell her how I wanted the steak cooked. Another 10 mins pass and someone comes to take drink order with each drink arriving about 5 mins apart from each other.
A table if 10 walked in drinks served within 10 mins food within 20 and they arrive with bowl of pasta for the baby about 30 mins in at this stage. Called the girl bout 5 mins after the pasta to ask why we did not get our starters yet and her response was there cooking your mains now I’m sorry did you order starters I’ll make sure you get free desserts when you eat and I can get you potato skins now if that helps.
What a joke of a place write down an order it helps. Clean the place up a bit get rid of the musty spell in the place and get tables that family can sit at and a big fella can sit under comfortably. I’d not step foot in this place again if I was paid to I’ had to leave after 40 mins there what a waste of time

We were visiting Tramore and decided to have midday dinner at the Raglan Road pub.
The Barman didn’t take our food order down correctly and confusion happened when the food arrived . Side orders were missing and then arrived when the meal was almost finished .
Food quality and presentation is poor , side of vegetables were tired , carrots in particular were from previous days and reheated . We were there for Sunday dinner and you would expect fresh vegetables and an effort made particularly on a Sunday seating . Chefs skills really are non existent from the food we had . Basic food at an extortionate and over inflated price. A huge rip off .
In my opinion the cleanliness of the toilets always reflects how an establishment is managed and a visit to the toilets revealed that the male toilets were in poor hygiene conditiion . Strong smell of urine and the hand dryer was only blowing out weak cold air which was inadequate to dry your hands . Oddly one hand towel is situated outside the male and female toilets .
Tramore is a seaside tourist town and the Raglan Road pub probably get away with serving sub standard food to passing tourists as a business because there repeat customers regarding eating there are few and far between . I will not be returning and won’t be a repeat customer . An establishment to avoid . Thats my honest review on my experience on visiting and eating at the Raglan Road pub.

I've been coming back to The Raglan Road (formerly The Esquire) Tramore for years and it never fails to disappoint. The food has always been fantastic, my favourites are the potato skins, sirloin steak and the apple pie, oh and I can't forget the Lobster platter! While they've kept their best sellers The Raglan Road always provided a range of choices to suit everybody. The establishment itself is full of Irish charm and warmth, you could literally spend a whole day discovering all it's nooks and crannys. I have always felt so welcomed here and it's the reason I come back time and time again. Now more than ever I am so happy I can support one of my local businesses

Having driven along the Copper Coast dodging storm Dennis we reached Tramore looking for some lunch. The Esquire Raglan Road was amazing and just what we were after. Great decor, atmosphere, table service, roaring fire. The landlady chatted to us about our drive and looked at our photos! She told us we were sitting in what used to be her living room. During lunch she brought us two complimentary delicious Irish coffees. Food was also delicious, we sat next to the aforementioned fire which really is a great sight.

Went for dinner here, service from when we stepped in the door was shocking. Asked for the child changing facilities, to be shown the toilet where there was no changing table or ant facilities to change a baby. . No hand wash. Felt rushed to order, asked for high chair and the bar man just walked away, he came back with a hight chair with no top. Waited nearly 30 mins for food even though we were the only ones there. Food was shocking, sour mash which was for my 2 year old. I got bolognsise which was the size of a child's dinner. Burnt round the edges like it was heated to long ,garlic bread soaked in oil. Shocking food. husbands food was no better. Will never return.

What a fantastic night. Electricity went in the town but the staff made it a magical night. Candles were brought out and the craic we had was top class. Food was just amazing and great value. Goes to show the quality of the staff with how they dealt with something that was out of their control. We'll done everyone.

A fantastic old world restaurant. There's always something new to see when you go in there. Paul is a fantastic host and Chef. From fresh fish to steaks. Always fantastic. Lunch or dinner. Reasonable prices. Service great. No music at the moment, but usually you will get lots of traditional music.

We were visiting Tramore and this place was recommended to us and we had a most delightful experience and the atmosphere was one of the of warmth and comfort we thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The barman and the lady chef could well be employed by Vinters on the craft of welcoming customers. They are experts in that profession.

Great restaurant. We had the sirloin steak which was excellent and the portions were generous to say the least. Everything on the plate was cooked well.
Staff were attentive and efficient, with a rich seam of good old Irish humour

We entered this pub attracted by the beauty of the place. Once inside, we ordered a blood fillet and a Tramore seafood chowder. We were served after more than twenty minutes despite the place being empty. The meat was not a fillet and was overcooked despite our request to cook it to blood, the chowder was definitely heated in the microwave and inside we found an iron filament. The Vinaigrette that was brought to the table with chips had several insects inside. From the bar counter came continuous burps from the two customers intent on consuming beer. We are sorry to have to make such a negative review despite the fact that we have been coming on holiday to Ireland for 15 years now. We've never had such an unpleasant situation before.
