We tried to drop in for lunch and early dinner on two occasions as we were visiting Youghal but understandably it was pre booked and full. We then pre booked for a dinner one evening and as it was such fab food and service we pre booked for a lunch the next day. I have to say the service was exceptional, we were checked on continuously but never in an overbearing way. There was always a member of staff nearby if you needed anything. We had fab meals on both occasions and staff were happy to accommodate half portions of the regular menu for the kids which was so much appreciated. Overall I would highly recommend for casual family dining, we pre booked so were seated indoors. Covid regulations were strictly observed. Loved it and the staff were outstanding. We hope to be back asap!!

Myself and my friends visited The Quays while holidaying in the area. We were absolutely taken back by the outstanding service we received while there. The staff were all incredibly friendly and accommodating. We had booked outdoor seating that morning and the staff rang us during the afternoon with an update on the weather forecast as they wanted to make sure we were comfortable with sitting outdoors. When we arrived the staff were extremely accomodating, frequently checking on our table, offering to move the umbrellas to our table and explaining that there might be a slight delay in ordering as they were very busy (there wasn't even a delay in the end). Noticing that a member of my group appeared cold at one point, one of the staff members then brought out blankets to our group and they offered for us to move inside once a table became available as they were worried we would be cold outside. We were all taken aback with the kindness of all staff members we encountered while dining there and were already extremely pleased with our experience, and that was before we even had the delicious food! The food arrived piping hot, there was plenty of choice on the menu and they were very accomodating to the vegetarians in our group. We were shocked by how good value the food and drinks were too! Overall, it was an amazing evening with the nicest, friendliest and most attentive staff we have ever come across. We will definitely be back again soon!

Myself and my wife decided to take a Sunday drive today during which we stopped off at Youghal for a stroll along the seafront.
We eventually ended up walking along Kent Street and we spotted The Quays Pub/Restaurant at about 5.00pm.
We hadn't eaten since breakfast, so we decided to enquire at the Quays about getting something light to eat.
We ordered a basic salad and some tea. We were given the option to eat outside at the wooden tables/seats.
The food that we got was excellent, first class. The table service was very prompt and efficient and it was a real joy to be able to eat outside and enjoy the great weather.
The Quays is a lovely spot and despite C19 there was a good collection of customers who were all socially distanced. The interior of the pub is clean, with very nice interior furniture. The venue seems to be a popular spot because a group of young well dressed women came in and ordered a meal, while we were there.
This is a venue which we will definitely visit again

Cannot say enough of good things about this bar / restaurant we were a group of 7 golfers and eat and drank here for three nights. Staff were very accommodating and went out of their way to look after us. Food was superb and would definitely recommend The Quays to anyone looking for a good spot in Youghal. Hope to return in better times

On a recent visit to Youghal, after a long walk about, we accidentally found the Quays. We were able to sit outside in lovely sunshine, facing the sea. The menue was perfect for a light lunch and the staff were really efficient, courteous and very helpful.
The food was excellent and very good value

Nice location for outdoor dining, but food is OK, nothing more. Staff were disorganised, perhaps because of a very busy takeaway trade. The low point was my portion of chips, which were pretty poor anyway, which had two chicken nuggets added in for good measure! The seafood pie and the portion sizes, particularly of starters and salads were the highlights.

Very friendly staff, excellent clean toilets and sensible menu, just 4 mains for lunch. I had beef lasagne and my husband had fish of the day which was haddock served with potatoes, carrots & little cabbage. Mine was served with salad & chips. Gorgeous flavour lasagne and my husband said fish very good too, happy all around. Well worth a visit

Staff are very professional and helpful, they provide us the soccer match that we were looking for. Restaurant is nice and the burger one of the best I have ever had.
They have an issue with kitchen breaks that made me wait since 3 pm to 4:30 pm for the lunch, as I was beside the check in I saw several customers leaving the restaurant due to this issue

Have to say I've never left a review for anywhere before but visited here for lunch when passing through youghal. There were 4 adults and 5 kids and I have to say it was the best service I've had in a long time, the staff were just amazing and were so kind and patient with the kids it was such a nice relaxing lunch and the food was really good and very reasonably priced. I would highly recommend. Well done all at the Quays

Don’t think they’ve ever seated us here always dismissed but never told if there’s a wait time or offered to sit at the bar etc. Strange timings for food and you can’t book ahead online. Went in today and the hostess was rude and obviously put out when asked if there was any chance of a table for two, I’m not sure what else you can do with no booking system other than walk in and enquire if there’s a table free. I’d say they know they’re busy so they treat customers as disposable so I wouldn’t be expecting much in the way of food service.

The restaurant is nice and clean, and staff is friendly.
The order was collected quickly, but it took over 30 minutes before food was served,
We had a starter which was made of spicy chicken wings: delicious.
Unfortunately, there it is where it stops.
My partner main dish was something labelled as "lasagne"; now, lasagne is NOT a shepherd pie with two sheets of pasta to replace the mash potatoes, as obviously the cook thinks it is. Lasagne is a fine balance between sheets of pasta (more than 2!), mince meat and bechamel (or white sauce if the cook does not know how to make bechamel). Moreover, it is supposed to be made in a wide oven dish and then cut to portion and served as such. It is not instead supposed to be made in a small and tight dish, kept then for a long period under the warm lamp in the kitchen (or worse placed in a microwave) and served so hot that you get burned if you touch it.
My main was surf and turf, and here the cook managed to display the top of his abilities, as both the prawns (4, by number) and the steak were tasteless, not an easy feat. The accompanying vegetable were so overcooked that they were uneatable.
The dessert, double chocolate fudge cake, was ordinary.

Very disappointed, table outside in cold and windy weather. No heaters on, no regard for customer's physical comfort. Staff friendly but that's it. Was assured from the lady we booked with that a table indoors could be sourced but none available on arrival. Food average, husband's steak tough and went cold very quickly given weather conditions.

The two women working there are very ignorant, making you feel very unwelcomed upon arrival. Looked and spoke to us as if we were lost and shouldn't be in the place. No matters what so ever. Told us there wasn't any tables when we didn't want food we wanted to sit at the bar for a drink which was fine but they were turning away people and had reservation signs on all tables which I seen no one sit at for the 2 hours we were there. Good spot but the rudeness of the staff would turn you away from the place

What a lovely pub! We visit the Quays every time we’re in Youghal and have always had a good experience here. Warm and friendly staff, the food is amazing and lots of choice. The pub itself is beautiful inside and out, in a great location with a beautiful view of the harbour too!

Busy restaurant and we didnt have a booking but after waiting a couple of minutes at the bar they kindly found us a table.
The fish chowder was divine, full of fish and very warm and tasty. The cod pie was also excellent.
We didnt have room for dessert sadly, as the puddings also looked delicious!
Staff were friendly and service pretty fast considering how busy they were
