We had dinner in the front of this pub/restaurant. The food was great and staff were very efficient and friendly but no staff, either behind the bar or on the floor, wore any masks or protection which made us feel quite uncomfortable. We were seated at one of 3 tables by an exit which was open so there was an attempt at ventilation however staff were taking our orders very close to us at our table and not observing social distancing with us. If they had been wearing masks or visors this would not have been a issue for us. I hope the management can review this procedure to make customers feel more at ease.

Extremely Reliable

Can not recommended highly enough. Always a great meal/experience. Staff always really friendly and decor is really relaxing. The special menu is usually good although they do they tend to run out of food a bit but although frustrating it must considered a good sign.

Plain cooking of a high order

We chanced in one wet and rainy August day for lunch. Friendly welcome and a wide-ranging menu. Food was well cooked and presented. No pressure to drink anything other than the water supplied. Definitely recomended, especially for families.

Lovely spot

We got a lovely window seat here to watch the world go by! Service was brilliant and food was delicious. Staff were great! Scampi was amazing... really fresh and tasty! The beef feather blade was amazing...a proper feast! Highly recommend. Guinness was good too!

Really Good Food

Very friendly place in the centre of Youghal, I enjoyed a very nice lunch here. The barman and server were all chat and good cheer, and I was looked after very quickly. I had a lovely burger, so tasty and a more than ample serving. I'd happily have stayed longer in such a cosy environment, but I had a tight schedule. Nice place, I'd definitely go back next time I am in the Yiughal area.

Gone down hill

Tasteless curry with prawns like rubber. Last time we will be handing over hard earned cash in this establishment. Management a joke arguing that we don’t understand how Thai curry should taste

Don’t waste your money.

Had the leg of venison, skimpy pieces of meat, soggy wet mashed potato with tinned peas! Customer service was just brutal especially the sarcastic not funny owner/ manager. There’s a lot better out there.

it the food was nice to eat . That where it ended i am afraid , the service was ok , There is lack friendleness there . You could not help your self to juice or the rest if you not a guest .

I have been a regular customer with years, the food was always very nice. The last year or so the food is not as good. Had the burger roughly a month ago and it was over cooked, dry and tasteless. I ended up eating just the bun. I had the steak sandwhich the last time I visited and the steak had a god awful flavour. The staff are friendly depending on who is working. Customers don’t seem to be a priority anymore.

Very family friendly

Had a lovely lunch in the Coach house today. Very family friendly with baby changing (not readily available in youghal) and great kids menus available. Staff very friendly and helpful. Will be back and would recommend.

As a family with young children and a baby on holidays we were extremely happy with this restaurant. The setting is lovely. The food was absolutely gorgeous. The lady who served us was warm and friendly. I couldn't fault a thing. Would highly recommend

Going Seriously Downhill

Have eaten here many times whilst passing through and this visit will defintely be my last. The standards have really dropped. Pate starter, the side salad was dry not a drop of dressing just dry leaves and carrot shavings, difficult to swallow ..... The beef burger was accompanied by frozen chips. If I wanted frozen chips I would have stayed at home and cooked a dinner myself and for €16 ...... someone is having a laugh ??? When the place was run by the 2 Mark's sub standard food like this would never have been put on our table. If you want good wholesome tasty food in Youghal try Clancy's, they will be my usual stop from now on........

Food excellent service the same my granddaughter ate from the kids menu and had icecream for desert. Afterwards she looked to get an icecream from a shop next door we asked if this was possible and were shocked when we were told they would prefer if we did not. We left alot of money in food and drink and were disappointed our son and granddaughter left to get her cone and we had 2 more drinks before leaving. Only sorry we did not wrap up the bill after we got an answer to our request. Just a pity our night ended this way
