Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Food was only average, seriously.. €36 for a sirloin steak is way way overpriced. How can that be justified??? It prob cost €7 MAX!!! The steak was supposed to be 10oz but at least 3oz was grizzle. Other food was ok but bulked up with...potato. Trying to be balanced here but cost is ridiculous! Starters are mad money! Soup is only thing reasonable @ €6, everything else is €10, €12 or €14!!! I think it’s a case of a captive audience being abused. Just too much for too little! Would not recommend!More

Excellent food and service. Great wine and a good atmosphere. We had a few people with dietary requirements and they were more than happy to cater for. The bread is a must!

Can't rate everything about this restaurant highly enough. From the restaurant itself, to the exceptional food, to the really lovely friendly staff (Maggie, Aoife & Ben) to the wines by the glass (I tried a few 🤭). My husband and I both thoroughly enjoyed our...evening here and got great recommendations for our stay in Kilkee. Definitely go here!More

We had the pleasure to eat in this restaurant last Saturday night. The reception we received was very welcoming. Every server was completely offay with the menu. The food was absolutely superb and is a credit to the chef. We can honestly say it was...the best meal we had in any restaurant in west Clare! Cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough.More

Adult only restaurant and well worth a visit for a special occasion. Beautiful food with an interesting and varied menu. Waiters friendly and knowledgable. Food was delicious - one of the more expensive restaurants in Kilkee but worth every penny. Will be back .

Simply delicious dishes. The chef/ proprietor/ manager obviously has a passion for food, quality and presentation. All staff were professional and well- trained. The attention to detail impressed us both. We loved the concise menu. The restaurant itself has a tasteful and calm decor. We...had the bacon salad, broccoli and blue cheese soup, stonebass, ribeye and the sticky toffee pudding. Exceptional evening 🤙👏 5 stars ⭐️More

We visited this restaurant with a group of 4 last night as it was recommended to us by some of the local people using jet skis on the pier. Upon arrival we were so surprised to see such a beautifully decorated restaurant considering we are...in a small town by the beach. The staff were all in really smart attire and super friendly and welcoming to us. The menu offers a great range of dishes which includes plenty of seafood and high end beef cuts. We were given a beautiful selection of bread on the house which had 2 breads, lovely butter and some delicious beetroot puree. it was very well received indeed. Main course were - Beef 2 ways, Dover sole - Rib eye steak and Stone bass. all of excellent quality. Again throughout the meal the staff were attentive and very knowledgeable of all the menu. The bill was very reasonable considering the establishment and no service charge added is something we are not used to being from the UK . All in all this is defiantly one for a return visit when we come again. Richard & JanMore

Visited Ireland in June . Pollock & Porter came recommended by locals, trust the locals. We were a party of 2 celebrating a birthday. From the minute we entered, the staff without exception were attentive for the duration. The menu had a good selection and...didn’t disappoint, flavor, presentation and portion. A call out to restaurant manager “Gosia” who pays particular attention to the guests and their overall experience. This is a intimated restaurant, all around superb and definitely value for what you pay.More

My husband and I had our first visit to Pollack + Porter on June 18th, we had heard and read great reviews so my husband booked a table as a surprise!!, and we were not disappointed. We were met by our waiter for the night...who was very friendly and chatty, whom we had several laughs with during our stay. All of the staff on duty that night were very friendly and helpful. Now the food!, we had the mussels and my goodness what a fabulous portion we got, they were divine, so fresh & full of flavour. The homemade brown bread and focaccia were delicious, must say the focaccia was my favourite, even asked for seconds . To the lady chef that cooked our steaks on the night, OMG!!!!.. they were outstanding, cooked exactly as we ordered and it is the very first restaurant where I ate my steak not needing any sauce or seasoning!!. It was like butter to cut & just melted in your mouth, the flavour was amazing, all I needed to accompany my steak was the mash and veg. We thoroughly enjoyed every mouthful!!. As for the desserts I can not comment as neither of us were able to indulge but from what we saw at surrounding tables they too looked divine. It is a night and a meal we will remember and we will be returning and we both highly recommend a visit to Pollack + Porter, you will not be disappointed.More

Scrumptious meal tonight. Staff friendly and helpful. After ordering we were presented with complimentary cups of soup and a selection of breads which were accompanied with butter and beetroot humus. We had chosen chicken main course.. moist, nicely cooked and appealing presentation, combination of flavours...on plate were inspired.. bacon lardons, wilted spinach, shallots, garlic infused mushrooms and i loved the bacon marmalade. We decided to skip starter so we would have room for dessert and was it worthwhile.. we chose 1 raspberry and white chocolate roulade and I had 'Whiskiemisu'.. omg.. Jameson and coffee infused sponge with cream topped with a chocolate shell garnished with chocolate sauce and strawberry and accompanied by homemade bread ice-cream in a shortbread shell... sinfully delicious. Overall tasty, well presented meal in relaxed atmosphere. We will be back. Unfortunately I didn't take photos tonight. Maura and JoeMore
