The food is pretty fantastic. I ordered the pan fried black Sole on the bone served with a burre blanc sauce, steamed mussels and butter poached shrimps. This was served with steamed veg and was simply outstanding. My wife ordered the breaded chicken dish stuffed with traditional white pudding, cream cheese and Parmesan. The taste was soft and delicate, perfectly cooked with a lovely crisp from the coating. Clever cooking and absolutely delicious.
Excellent staff, observant and attentive. Not possible to find any faults with anything. Good value, interesting menu with regular specials. Well worth traveling to. I forgot to take any photos but I will the next time I am there.

Beautiful pub / restaurant inside and out in an amazing spot. They were fully booked when we made an impromptu visit, but staff accommodated us with choice to dine outside or at the bar. The table nearest us ordered the salmon main, which looked amazing so I was tempted to get it, but I went for the monkfish, as it's rare enough to see on menus. Monkfish can be prepare a bit rubbery but this was perfect. I tasted my Dad's chowder, which was delicious too. Staff were busy with a full house, but attentive enough to notice he finished bread early and served another without us even having to ask!
We didn't plan dessert but had to try menu after great first impressions. I had the sticky toffee / Dad the meringue - both delicious.
Best dining experience of month long trip so far. Highly recommend, especially the monkfish (pic doesn't show fresh veggie side)

We stayed at the campsite a couple of days at the start of the week and enjoyed time really much.
First we were sad, that the pub and restaurant will kept closed during our stay, but the owner told us about the reopening on Wednesday.
So we changed our planes and got back on Wednesday for the reopening. The new roofing, for the outdoor area, was finished and all tables were arranged nicely.
The service staff was friendly and attentive all the time. Also got us a high chair for the smallest member of the family and seated us close to the playground, so we could have an eye on the other one :)
We enjoyed a great service, a fresh draft pint and a delicious meal!
From starter to dessert, everything was just on point and well balanced. We expected some good food, but our expectations were exceeded.
Our resume for „The Pipers Inn“:
Family friendly, great value for good food and a wonderful location were you can also stay overnight (camping with van or tent)
We are looking forward to our next trip to Ireland and will pop in here again for sure !

Was I of 3 tables seated at 1pm of a Sunday place was very quite. Ordered 2 cokes which arrived and were very flat asked for 2 bottles instead which we got. Our dinners arrived which were warm as in put a piece of butter on veg and it wouldn’t melt., and lamb was dry.Yorkshire pudding was stone cold.

Our 3rd time here. The previous 2 times a lady was there running the restaurant and things definitely run much smoother. Food was good but not quite as good as last year or year before. I opted for special monkfish dish. It was nice but very small portion of fish. Monkfish was overcooked. Deducting 1 star for my food. We also ordered beer batter Hake which was very nice. Brie starters were lovely. The olives in the salads are a really nice touch adding a little bit of luxury to your meal. Chips are AWFUL. Please change them!! Staff need a little training and could be a little more friendly. Deduct 1 star. Ultimately, I hope to return again & I would recommend.

We made a booking over the phone and were told there was only sitting inside and were our party of 3 fully vaccinated which I replied Yes. When we arrived we were asked to wait in the waiting area of the bar until we were brought to our seats and to order a drink while we waited. After waiting awhile we had to ask the bartender about our table only to be told it will be awhile longer. After another long wait we were asked do we want to sit outside our reply was no. Nobody asked to see our Covid Certs and the pub was very busy. After an hour of waiting my husband asked the Bar Manager are we getting a table or not - only to be told - Of Course. A few minutes later the waitress brought us a menu and asked us what we wanted to order while sitting at the waiting seats, which we found to be very odd - why did they not do this in the first place. We as a famly were not impressed with this pub and service at all and we didn't feel very welcomed. This was the only pub in Clare that we felt this as any pub we visited while holidaying in Clare we found the people to be very friendly and welcoming. We felt very disappointed with our last night in Clare.

Calamari was good, wings were cold and tasteless and the side sauce was awful. Lamb main was very nice and cooked well, very tasty and the chicken was alright. Staff were too busy chatting amongst themselves to bother to greet or serve us. When we finally got someone's attention and got menues the service was slow and the waitress was ill-informed on the drinks available. Staff all seemed completely uninterested and untrained. Our mains were brought out before we had finished the starters which was annoying and left us with lots of leftovers. The horrible rude unwelcoming foreign blonde waitress was not working this day so that was a good thing.

So disappointed with our first visit to this restaurant. We we’re so looking forward to it having read the reviews and looked at the menu on line. Service was very poor. We waited 55 mins for dinner while watching other tables who arrived after us have both starters and mains. Waitress then arrived with the wrong dinner for my young son. And my husband had to wait ten mins for a steak knife. The rest of the food was luke warm. I ordered monkfish and prawns which was presented really well, but fish was tough and cold. Overall a very disappointing visit and we won’t be returning.

Place looks great but service and food was terrible. 45 minutes from ordering to starters being sent out, the waiter forgot our order.. things like this can happen and the waiter provided a free drink as way of an apology... But another 45 minute wait for main course is not excusable. The starters were OK but just about. Would expect better for 9 euro mushrooms on toast than soggy toast and food that wasn't seasoned. The mains were very poor. Fish was over cooked, potatoes and veg looked like they were under heat lamp for half an hour. There was something on the burger that might have been cheese at some point but was only a congealed mess when I got it. The pasta had something that looked like a piece of fat from chicken, the waiter kindly investigated and said it was a wild mushroom.. Even though there was only one in the dish and it wasn't listed as an ingredient in the menu. Had enough at this point so headed off to pay. Got the bill and realised that they tried to overcharge by 36 euro. Never been so disappointed as to write a bad review before.

We travelled here in April camping as a family and was greeted with the warmest and friendliest owner. We then booked to come back just as a couple and we experienced the exact same welcome, and even remembered what we were drinking etc. We decided this time to eat in the restaurant and we’re not disappointed, the meals were probably the best I’ve tasted in Ireland with once again the friendliest service and made to feel so welcome. I cannot find a fault with this amazing place and have now booked to return very soon. I don’t think 5 stars is even close to what I would say about the pipers and the staff and definitely the owner. Already counting down the days for our return. All I can say is this place has to be experienced!!!!

We enjoyed our meal at the Pipers. The setting both inside the restaurant and outside in the countryside is fabulous. It’s a little hidden gem - lovely to just have a drink in the very small bar area too. Hard to get a table, we were just very lucky after calling on spec. Needs a small bit more finesse though but the scampi was so fresh and very tasty. Nice Sunday afternoon and very lucky to get a table

I was with my family for a birthday lunch and I have got a fried piece of paper tissue inside my calamari. There was not any apology from the Manger.
They just took a plate from me and that's it. They have also one of the foreign nationality waitress who is very rude and every time when we went there she was always rude, answering for the questions in very sarcastic and not professional way.She asked us if we want to order something else and I said 'no thank you we are ok 'she replied 'That's even better' What a lack of respect for a customers!
I am very disappointed because it is such a lovely situated restaurant where we were coming often
and we had to forget about this place!

Camping area was OK, fairly level. Plenty of space, nicely maintained.
The toilets and shower block are not fit for purpose. We timed. a 'cleaner', who as far as we could see could not have possibly cleaned anything. She did come away with a bag of light rubbish.
The showers are disgusting concrete cubicles, inadequate hot water and all but exposed to the elements. Not value for money.

I booked The Piper’s Inn for my daughter’s communion lunch and we had a wonderful experience! The bar and restaurant had a lovely warm and welcoming atmosphere. The menu had a super selection of starters and mains for different tastes including vegetarians. It is rare to see a menu which offers such a nice variety of mains that it makes choosing between options difficult! We were a large party of 27 adults and children but were seated appropriately according to public health advice in a private seating area. The food was delicious and came out piping hot and in a timely manner despite the restaurant being under pressure with a couple of functions. The waiting staff were very attentive and did their best under pressure. I would highly recommend this super venue and will certainly be back again!

We had the Christmas menu and it was delicious. I had the prawns and mussels broth to start and the Venison for main. It was nicely presented and had great flavour. Very big portions also and I struggled to eat my plum pudding dessert. We were given a glass of complimentary bubbles on arrival and shared a bottle of the cabaret sauvignon which was fruity and nice to drink. Our courses were well spaced out and we didn't feel rushed. The only let down of the evening was the staff. They were miserable and it felt like we were inconveniencing them by being there.
