Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This place is exactly what you’re looking for. Practically sitting on Ballyvaugn Pier. We stumbled upon it looking for a mid day coffee and scone not wanting to ruin our pub lunch in Doolin. Authentic Irish food, unbelievably beautiful outside and inside glassed patio gardens,...amazing homemade food, fabulous desserts and scones from scratch and very friendly and welcoming servers and staff. Don’t miss this place if only for a flat white!More

Lovely food and great service except for the cat in the kitchen. I love animals but not in a kitchen servicing food not very hygienic.

Attention to detail was excellent Lovely selection I chose a wrap with goats cheese and black pudding and my husband had a ciabatta with ham cheese red onion tomatoes which we both enjoyed a cinnamon apple scone and a passion fruit tart both delicious taken...in the garden which is beautiful and so relaxing lovely smiling staff even though they were run off their feet. Very popular location.More

We only wanted to call in for a coffee and cake, but we had to queue and then wait some time to get served. The cake we had was disappointing - would have expected a better quality. However, the staff were really friendly, and were...working hard to get through all the customers.More

My husband and I visited this restaurant on Sunday afternoon. To say we were disappointed with food and service is an understatement.  We got the goats cheese salad and there was only ONE slice of black pudding, tiny portion of goats cheese and carmalised onion,...the rest of the plate was filled up with leaves. This was priced at €15. We also got the goats cheese sandwich and soup which were extremely small portions, again very little goats cheese and a sprinkle of black pudding in the sandwich. This was priced at €13.50. When we complained one of waitresses was lovely, however the next waitress had a bit of an attitude and we certainly weren't asked if we were alright again. I thought it was very poor customer service. This meal with a tea and latte cost us €35.40. I understand that businesses are trying their best but they should also remember their customers. We've often visited this place with family and friends and have always loved it. I certainly won't be returning or recommending it to people anymore. It was awful and we were left very disappointed.More

So disappointed with the tea rooms in ballyvaughan. I loved this place years ago when I visited but I was really disappointed with the tiny soup I got and the side salad my sister had with her sandwich was the smallest side salad she has...ever had. Will not return . Prices like this make Ireland a reputation of rip off nationMore

Took a group of 20 friends there and the staff coped really well and efficiently, dealing with us and all the other customers. Food seemed fresh. Delicious home-made soup in a mug. Atrractive bright light eating area with tempting cake counter. Economical soup and sandwich...deal, but expensive when you add on cake and cappuccino.More

Visited the restaurant with my daughter for lunch after Aliwee caves visit. Setting was lovely and staff nice. Open smoked salmon sandwich overpriced for what I got. Two slices of brown bread some greens and a small amount of salmon. What I thought was a...real put off was to be charged €1.50 for a cup of hot water. Certainly very expensive for a small lunch.More

Came upon these tea rooms on the way to Allwee Caves. What a find. A really cute cottage and gardens. We were in the conservatory area which is absolutely gorgeous. The service was very efficient and friendly. The tea and cakes were yum. There was...a gluten free sticky apple sponge cake that we had to have seconds of as it was so good. Highly recommend.More

Stopped in for afternoon tea and had a lovely open smoked salmon sandwich and delicious cakes (fruit cake and coffee cake). Great coffee too. We came back the following morning to get a takeaway coffee and great to see the cakes being made and decorated...on the premises. Beautiful setting and lovely decor. Would definitely recommend.More

Lovely spot. Very nice outdoor dining. Service very slow. While open sandwich was tasty it was massively overpriced at €9.50 with very little chicken and effectively no salad or garnish.
