I was at a birthday dinner last Thursday night at Basilico and all of our high expectations were exceeded. The food was super delicious and the ambience just right, huge compliments to the chef and the beautiful, courteous and super efficient Caoimhe who could not do enough for us to ensure the dinner was a huge success. We will definitely return to the wonderful Basilico Italian restaurant in Oranmore. Thank you!

We ate in the bistro, having prebooked the day before. Its a lovely setting. Menu would have had decent choice except we got a call to say one if their chefs was a close contact so they were limiting it to just pizza and pasta-no problems, we appreciated the call and we were after the Italian cuisine anyways. the kids menu remained unchanged. The food were divine, very tasty. The pizzas were a big hit in particular. They also have a full bar and decent cocktail menu. Service left something to be desired however. Our waitress was pleasant and once we eventually ordered everything was correct and came promptly, we had to ask to order and ask for dessert menus. A tad annoying as we had small kids with us so time was definitely of the essence. All in all, would return but maybe without the kids the next time.

Not as good as usual. Went with two friends service was excellent despite being very busy . I asked for a pasta dish that was not on the menu, they obligated no problem, bit it was not that good tomato sauce was tangy , basic in an Italian, I always have pizza and it's the best pizza , my friends enjoyed there meals but both said it wasn't as good as it normally is , have been going here regularly for ten years , I always put up good reviews , so said would say that it was not as good as usual.

We had Saturday night dinner here recently; it was a return visit as I'd been on a week night with some friends before. All I can say is that if a restaurant can't maintain standards from a quiet weeknight to a busy weekend night then there's a problem. The service and the food were all significantly worse. We were ignored for most of it, the waiter started arguing with me when I asked after about 25 mins if our bread nibble starter (seriously, just bread and hummous and olives) would arrive soon. When it did arrive the hummous was inedible, basically dried chickpeas with a few herbs. The main courses weren't much better, my husbands enjoyed his ragu pasta but my lobster ravioli was disappointing - it could have been anything in the filling for the lack of flavour. We wanted a dessert but despite the waiters seeing us with the open menu (after they'd given it to us upon asking if we wanted dessert) for about 20 mins, with 3 empty tables in our section, we decided to leave. So disappointing, we won't be returning.

My sister & I visited Basilico Restaurant in the Coach House Hotel today 6/08/2022.
I ordered a vegan curry & added Prawns,
my sister ordered fresh fish veg & chips.
The chips came with the taste of burn, she handed them back. On lifting the fish she found a few bits of soggy, some well over cooked halved baby potatoes & 1 piece of broccoli well past it’s sell by date before it was ever cooked & green limp beans…she again called the lovely waitress over who apologised many times & took the food away.
I did ask to speak to the chef, who refused…
when you can get the most delicious food in classy restaurants in Ireland this terrible standard should not be accepted.
They have lost this customer as I will not be back.

Myself and my teenage daughter ate here last week, we were just back from a funeral and my daughter was upset so I thought we would try this place.
Firstly the waitress had an air of 'couldn't care less' about her.
I asked for tea, she brought it out and I noticed the cup was badly tea stained. After a bit of time trying to get her attention, I asked for another cup, she snapped at me "it is just stained" I said yes but it was very off putting, she was not happy about going to get a cleaner cup.
BTW the place was empty, she was not busy.
Who wants to see all the tea marks from others on a cup in a restaurant? She came back wiping the inside of the cup with HER fingers and slammed it on the table.
Our food came out and thankfully the waitress was no longer serving us.
My food was pork with mash and veg.
Pork was flavourless, and I had charred spinach?? Not pleasant. It just made the mash potato taste burnt.
My daughter enjoyed her burger, this is why I gave 2 stars.
I emailed this restaurant, stating my issues. They acknowledged my email but then ignored me. I did not want to leave a review online, hoping they would have the common decancy to resolve it with me offline and give me some explanation to the very rude treatment we received, but it seems this is above them, as I see in their ridiculous responses to bad reviews! I work in hospitality and if the cups don't have the stains off them, they have not been properly cleaned so I question the cleanliness of the place now.
After such a terrible day we just wanted somewhere nice to enjoy some tea and lunch, that waitress just added to the stress of it all.
Train your staff, taste your food, keep an eye on your cleanliness and for God's sake stop replying to reviews like a petty little child.

Overpriced food that honestly could have been made better at home. One meal went straight in the bin, the carbonara was basic and the garlic pizza bread was not good. Italian guy running the restaurant was ignorant, after being guided by a member of staff to that back to wait he proceeded to shout at me from across a few tables to move back. Could have easily been handled much better. There are a lot better options for food in Oranmore and Italian in Galway. Will not be returning.

Was very disappointed with this restaurant. After hearing good things, much of the food was sub par while the prices reflected a need for much better value. Definitely not authentic flavors.. the staff did not make up for the lack of taste in the food, it felt like we were annoying them asking for the simplest of things.. for example my friend waited so long for her main we were almost finished eating. No apology at all. I wouldn’t return.

Love it from Start to Finish !!!!
We are Italian and we were in holiday this August in Galway .
We had Calamari Fritti, lobster spaghetti, tagliata steak with porcini and our Kids had the pasta carbonara and the kids brownie .
All washed down with a Great Calabria Red Wine, reccomended by our Waiter.

Oh wow.. this place must have the worse service ever. Ordered a bottle of wine that we didn’t get till the meal was finished ordered nibbles that we never got and did the server come and sort it out😂😂😂 dear lord no. Pizza is ok and hot but all was ruined by 3 couldn’t care less servers

On holidays visiting family over the years we have been in several times, always leave a 5er on the table. After our experience last night we won't go again. Many told us they were rude, now experienced it ourselves. Several tables of 4 empty, only have 3 tables for two.
Place was scarcely occupied. They made 4 couples, we were 2nd in line wait for a table of two while most tables were empty!
We were told to wait away from the entrance, at the bar, 3 times but there was no standing room at the bar.
The food has always been good, the main manager leaves a lot to be desired, no people skills, needs to find other work, maybe construction where his people skills are more appropriate.

Don't like giving bad reviews but Sunday morning was not up to standards ordered breakfast tea came with no spoons by the time breakfast came tea was cold asked for fresh tea in which I was willing to pay for but got hit water instead not even a tea bag
Breakfast had items on the plate that we didn't want had to ask 3 times for our toast which we never received
Don't think we'll stop there again
On the plus side food and prices were good

We booked last minute as a large group of 10 plus a toddler and they were happy to accommodate us. All staff so friendly and attentive and brilliant with our 2 year old. Italian is my favourite cuisine and this real egg pasta was absolutely delicious and I had the long blue island cocktail and is was so good! The wagyu burger and chips were also excellent. Only tiny negative was the child’s sausage and chips came with no veg and I do normally like her to have veg on the plate but as it was a one off meal out I didn’t mind too much. There was a massive flat screen tv showing the women’s World Cup opposite us which was great too. Service was quick and a great evening was had by all, perfect place for a wonderful family meal.

Dinner was not very good. Husband had the prawns with rocket in tomato sauce spaghetti and it was barely edible- way too spicy! I ordered the crab & salmon meat plate with prawns and it tasted mostly like canned tuna. Definitely a place to skip.

Ordered takeaway. Order ready 20 mins after assigned collection time. Garlic pizza bread was cold and rock solid. Kids goujans were heavily deep fried. Spagetti bolognese wasn't great. Afraid it was under cooked. Disappointing. Usually much better than that. Hoping this was a once off.
