Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

It’s a really quaint pub by the river… lovely nooks and crannies to eat in both inside and outside. We enjoyed really wholesome chowder with good brown bread… very enjoyable on a cold autumn Sunday. Staff were friendly and service was prompt. Much appreciated!

Wonderful, but limited menu. The employees were as kind as kind can be. You got a welcomed feeling the moment you entered the pub. Even the patrons were amazingly friendly and engaging. Great traditional Irish entertainment! The hospitality and atmosphere were exactly what you would expect at traditional Irish pub! Drop in for a brew (or brews) and some pub grub, and you won’t be disappointed! Highly recommended!

We stopped for dinner and parked in the car park but some had to be dropped out front. The food was delicious and service great as we were treated as family.

Started with wrong drinks. No bother, correct drinks were then provided. Long wait for starters. Waitress came to take order again as a mix up then at same time starters came .. again incorrect but we accepted what came(not to be difficult) and it was good. Then an hour later the mains came(felt was ignored by waiting staff when trying to put up hand to make an enquiry and well behaved children were now very restless). Battered fish meals were raw in the centre. Called for assistance. Made feel like we were the issue. At this stage left the 5 uneaten meals and left . On the plus side your staff accepted this and didnt try to bill us. I feel like sending Nancys and invoice for our wasted time and poor evening. I never thought i would be the guy to walk out like that

Had a family dinner here last week. In ‘normal’ times this must be a fantastic pub. Lots of different rooms and snugs and great, authentic decor. During Covid times it’s very safe and well organised, but the menu is quite limited. Oysters were a hit, salads big and very fresh. Brown bread not as fresh as you’d expect. The only item available on the dessert menu was apple tart so kids disappointed. Staff very welcoming and service prompt. Would return for a pint!

As title suggests. Not the best time to go but not their fault. The restaurant and pub are lovely. Lots of hidden rooms with charm. Staff are helpful and friendly. Due to the restrictions in force, it lacked atmosphere and would like to visit again when back to normal. You have to book as very popular as well. I had the most enormous bowl of mussels which were fab. If back to normal with the atmosphere and a full menu I would rate this higher.

I have visited Nancy's on several occasions, the latest being this Bank Holiday weekend. I tend to starve myself during the day knowing full well that the portions offered by Nancy's will fill me to capacity!! Nancy's is basically an "institution" loved by locals and visitors alike. This family run business endeavors to make very visitor welcome and one soon becomes embroiled in the atmosphere - and to steal the well worn cliche "the craic is mighty"!! As for the food - I could spend hours praising the variety on offer and all at very competitive prices. My favourite requests are for their homemade Chowder - Shrimp Sandwich followed by sizzling hot Prawns. I have yet to find anywhere that can produce similar food of such a high standard at affordable prices. Well Done Nancy's!!

We ordered the salmon special. The salmon was perfectly cooked, the sauce was very flavourful but did not overpower the salmon and the vegetables were cooked to perfection. Will definitely return and recommend to friends.

It was my 1st trip to Nancy's yesterday and I'm hoping it won't be my last. The guiness and the grub were both fresh and tasty, the craic from the locals was 90 and the staff both relaxed and friendly

Nancy's is a quaint place, mostly a pub with basic but tasty food. Unfortunately, there wasn't much atmosphere when we visited.

This has to be one of the oldest pubs in Ardara and much of the pub and its zig zag of small rooms are welcoming, snug, picturesque. The food was so-so. Frankly I'd like to have some traditional ploughman's lunch...nowhere to be found on this more modern menu.

We visited in the busiest weekend of the year without a reservation and the staff were fab in finding us a table. The chowder was delicious and the decor has a lovely rustic charm, lots to catch the eye. A true Irish experience!

This is a very quaint restaurant/pub. Food was good but was surprised that they didn't have chips/fries on the menu. Would recommend.

Visited this place yesterday with my family certainly not going back...waiting staff very pleasant apart from barman (maybe owner) whom we complained to about the food which was not what we expected. chowder was extremely salty and loaded with potato douched with salt, no cream like usual chowder I get in other restaurants. My husband ordered burger which was tasteless . no complaints were accepted, mannerism not very nice mad to grab money for bill. Not returning again to this place
