Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Gave this place 5 stars some time ago but what has happened with the service & atmosphere? It was after lunch & not busy but after waiting ages with no sign of my cappuccino to go with the sourdough toast, I went up to counter...to ask for it. Politely. The glare I was given! Then no water as originally requested & when I asked again got a small glass of it & not the usual bottle of water. For that glare alone, I won't be going back & wouldn't recommend. Yes, I did leave a tip. This is how I object.More

By far the best coffee in Bray. The have a great selection of home made sandwiches made with freshly baked bread. A little gem of a place that deserves our support

I love to have my coffee from this place because it is really good and cheap/moderate price. They also have Italian products and food and the staff always welcomes you with a smile!

I always get a coffee here before hoping on the dart. I usually get a treat too. They do little homemade pastries for just over a euro that go great with coffee. I haven’t tried anything else here so can’t speak to the rest, but...the coffee’s great and the staff always very friendly. Super cosy little placeMore

Myself and daughter no 2 are big fans, as we've taken to calling in after her drama class. Such a charming café, with excellent café at that, with a warm and welcoming atmosphere and superb straightforward food. The quality is top class, the service is...very good, and the prices are more than reasonable. What more could we ask?More

This is a genuine Italian café, as judged by all of the staff speaking Italian to each other. The sandwiches were tasty but the highlight was the coffee, probably the best coffee that I have had in Ireland. My only regret is not buying some...coffee beans from them while I was there.More

Favourite spot for a small bite, alone or social. Really Italian food, and you hear Italian among staff and visitors alike. Bit of an old world feeling, continental. Great selection of literature on the wall, perfect for polyglots and curious minds. Tasty melanzana, prosciutto, coffee,...sandwiches and cakes. A bit small though, you’d have to book in for lunch. But it’s worth booking!More

This has to be the best place for coffee in Bray. It is so cosy, the coffee is great and the food is good. Perfect for breakfast - try the granola. Also lovely for lunch or an evening meal - a plate of lovely Italian...anti-pasta and very good Sicilian wine is just perfection!More

I bought some cheese for home and she very kindly gave me half of a pre packed smoked cheese... I really like this place but unfortunately it's a little small.

Wonderful food, beautiful to listen to the Italian language, superb wines and eclectic music. I go here to write sometimes. I love the fact it's tiny, the furniture, the pictures on the walls, the books. It's an artist's dream (and writers are artists too, aren't...they?) I've never felt out of place, whether going with friends or alone. I feel like a rock star here, given space, yet attended to. I don't really want to recommend it, because I want it to stay small, but that's hardly fair, so I'll give it all the stars I can, for the management and staff who run this wonderful venue.More

We have been coming to the GattaNera cafe for several years, and it is one of our favourite places in Bray. The cafe is situated in a lovely little lane-way, The Albert Walk, a minute's walk from Bray station; and the bustling and bohemian vibe...of this little street is a perfect setting for this cosy and usually bustling cafe. For a quick coffee and a panini, there is nowhere better: the coffee is consistently great, and the paninis are all freshly made with delicious ingredients. Whilst the cafe serves coffee, wine and snacks into the evening at the weekend, they also occasionally put on special dining nights; and if you get a chance to go to one of these I would highly recommend doing so - the food served is always interesting and delicious.More
