Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Margaret was very friendly as were all of the staff. The gravy alone is worth visiting for, never mind the creamy pints of Guinness, the gravy is where it is at! Home made soup & a hot roast beef sambo extra chips (for dipping in the yummy gravy) & 2 soft drinks came to €18…over all a lovely lunch in an authentic pub.. full of local characters…5 stars Mags & co

Family member recommended this local pub, we had a friendly welcome, we’re seated quickly, despite no booking and orders taken quickly. The food was good home cooked food at a very reasonable rate and with a discount for a smaller portion. This is a gem of a place and will definitely be returning with other family members xxxx

Very friendly little pub which we used several times during our stay in Cahir - once to watch a football match on their TV and twice to listen to the live Irish music on Friday nights. Really nice atmosphere and the trad music was great. A really good night out (and the bar even laid on some complimentary snacks which was a nice touch).

We arrived to Cahir for some food while passing through. As other cafés were closed we tried Shamrocks. We sat down at a table and after deciding on what we wanted, a lady asked if we had ordered. We said we had not. She disappeared before taking our order and never came back. We left after 10 minutes. Rude staff. Shocking interior decor

If you want to get fed, nothing fancy but good traditional menu at good value, this is the place for you. One had the fish and chips and I had chicken maryland , the fish was decent and tasty, the maryland sadly was missing the pineapple and the banana, otherwise like the old days. To top off we had the trifle and it brought back memories. I even noticed the trusty glass of milk being served. A busy spot and a good atmosphere served by enthusiastic staff

A little oasis on our 3 day break in Cork/Tipp. Great menu at very reasonable prices ( that's a first in recent times ). It was busy with locals eating in, and I presume locals taking out. A great example of how this business has kicked on after what we've all come through. I'd love to have this genuinely honest and decent fare available in every town. Thank you.

Amazing find of a traditional Irish pub - although we just missed the main lunchtime menu, we were able to choose from a good & varied snack menu. Staff including the owners were extremely nice & welcoming Food was amazingly low priced ( super value for money ) and very tasty especially the soup. Would highly recommend

We got the most beautiful toasted sandwiches, one with chips and the other with salad. We were both extremely pleased with the quality of the food and great value for money. The staff were very attentive.

We attended a table quiz here last week. While the quiz itself was poorly organised the bar was too small to hold it for the number of people there. We were upstairs and the stairs itself was very narrow and carpeted. The toilets were basic.

Best pub food we ever had and reasonably priced. It’s a lovely warm welcoming place on a cold January day. The staff were so friendly and helpful. Definitely going back

A fine feed from a convivial host . I had beef lasagna which was served on the dinner plate and not in a microwaved bowl as is the custom in some outlets.

To start off with the food, The fish was horrible, full of greasy batter. The salad was nice and chips were ok. My friend got a lasagne and she thought it was terrible and bland. My nephew also thought his food was terrible and he’s only 11. The owner was complaining of been “stuffed up with a cold” and has no mask, visor or gloves which was very bad and shocking due to the current epidemic. Social distancing didn’t seem to exist on Sunday. Tables up on top of each other. Met an elderly couple leaving very worried about social distancing. Sun shining in the window made it very hard to eat. No curtains or blinds to pull. It was a complete health and safety hazard

Went here as I heard about it on the the two johnnies podcast and thought it would be nice . First of all , the owner a women rushed us and was rude . The waiters were abrupt and hated their jobs. The salad was a miserable piece of chicken with salad and was not fresh at all. My boyfriend had a lasagne and it was just very generic. Really disappointed was looking forward to going here . Very uncomfortable dining experience, the worst I’ve had in a long long time .
