My sister, niece and myself had lunch here on 20th December 2020. two of us ordered the fish pie. They looked good and were piping hot, the problem was that the main ingredient the fish, was to a large degree missing. The only discernible fish...was salmon and this made it's presence as tiny flecks of pink amidst a large quantity of peas, not one solid bit of fish in either pie. When the waitress came to collect the plates, I made my complaint to her. When paying the bill, I asked her if she had reported my complaint, the reply was, that yes she had and the chef said that he would put more fish in the next lot. At almost 20 euro this fishless pie represented absolutely abysmal value for money. Zero points for P R as well.More

Went to this restaurant during holidays in September, it was fabulous, the food was lovely and plenty of it. The staff were all very courteous despite the place being full - bathrooms were very airy clean and bright - Definitely come back here

Booked a table for 8:30 but wasn’t seated until 9 and didn’t get starter until 9:30. Really disappointing. Food was good but overpriced.

This was our first meal/trip out since lockdown started in March, so we were a bit nervous, but Mikey Ryan's was the ideal place to allay our anxieties. From the cool photoscan temperature checker, to the QR code on the table to get your menu...on your phone, this restaurant gets it right. One waiter/waitress served us the whole time, there were no horrid yellow & black posters and tapes anywhere, making it look wonderfully normal and pre-civil, but you could see they had taken every precaution. Tables nicely distanced, a foot yoke to open the door through to the loos, hand sanitizer in the toilet corridor all made us feel secure. And the food was gorgeous! Lovely menu, plenty to choose from and all sounded gorgeous. The only complaint (and this is just me picking at the only thing I can!) The chicken could have done with a little more sauce and the chocolate mouse a little less coulis! But otherwise perfect. Would highly recommend (and in fact have to several people!) And as soon as the hotel next door is finished, we'll be back for an evening meal too!More

Fantastic spot. Stopped in for lunch/brunch and really glad we did. Food was excellent and staff so lovely and friendly. I had the burger which was perfectly cooked (best in years). Partner had the eggs Benedict which were superb. Everything so relaxed and enjoyable whilst...sticking to Covid rules. Will definitely be backMore

Family day out in Cashel. My husband & I with our two teenage age children visited the rock of Cashel. We ate in Mikey Ryan’s that evening, because of Covid-19 we are uncomfortable to eat indoors, and only chose venues offering outdoor dining. We were...very happy with the setting, lots of large parasols and a large canopy area, gas heater, and spacious dining, the garden area is very pretty. Our waitress Ciara was a delight, so attentive, pleasant, chatty and helpful. The food was very good quality, but a bit pricey. We had 4 starters, 4 Mains, 3 desserts and coffees €233. (Having said that 3 were steak) the portions were a bit on the small side too. But the food was well presented, very tasty and all high quality fresh produce. The only really disappointment is that people are using the outdoor dining areas as smoking areas. As I said due to COVID we will only dine outdoors (family health condition) and this is something we’ve witnessed in almost all other restaurants. So to the management, I’m not sitting outdoors in the cold because I enjoy it, I’m choosing to eat outdoors in the cold weather to protect a family member from COVID. So please provide a separate/designated area for smokers, having smoke blown into my face while I eat my dinner is very unpleasant.More

We heard about Mikey Ryans from a colleague whose family live nearby, so on a recent visit to Tipperary we booked an evening meal. From the moment we arrived, for an early dinner, we were treated courteously and professionally by the front of house girl...who invited us to relax with a drink while our table was made ready. After a short wait we were shown to our table and in all honesty, I found it hard to decide what to eat from the menu options - I could have picked at least 3 of the choices but settled on Skeaghanore duck while my partner had fish. The duck was perfectly cooked and served with fresh, perfectly cooked vegetables and was probably one of the best plates of duck that I have eaten. Similarly, the fish was plentiful and delicious. Two excellent glasses of wine made a great accompaniment.Managed to find room for chocolate dessert which was stunningly sinful.... Throughout the meal we were treated respectfully by our waitress and had a fantastic experience which we will hope to repeat on our next visit to Tipperary. The only downside was a number of flies that were buzzing around the table next to us, but fortunately they did not unduly bother us apart from the occasional fly-past....More
