When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We just got married in May and had Lisdoo as our venue. We couldn’t be happier with how everything went! First, the manager Phillip was brilliant to work with, he was easygoing and professional from the start, and made us and our guests feel very...welcome. You couldn’t ask for a nicer guy to work with and anyone who has planned a wedding knows you have a lot of contact with your venue prior to the event. All our expectations were met and then some. No request was too big nor too small for Phillip, he had all the contacts we needed ready for us, ie decorations, cars, even down to a celebrant, although we didn't choose to go down that route. He even ordered a specific type of beer that I liked. Phillip and his crew took the stress out of the day, the planning leading up to it, came up with tips and ideas that we never would have thought of, such as our walking in music, he even allowed us to hire a bouncy castle and put it into a function room next door so that the children would be occupied. Anyone with young children attending any wedding would know it's stressful thinking how you'd keep them occupied for so long, as it can be a long day on them. The kids at our wedding had an absolute blast of a day, and were treated brilliantly by all of the staff throughout the day and night. The function room itself left us in awe, it was decorated beautifully, and the table centerpieces stood out so much that all of our guests commented on them. Anybody that has dined in the Lisdoo will know how renowned they are for their food, and our wedding day was no exception to their high standards of cuisine and service. To top the whole day off, Phillip and crew personally drove some of our guests who had travelled from out of town, back to their hotels, and came back for us, the bride and groom, as taxis were running late. We look forward to attending another function here again in the near future. If we were to rate Lisdoo out of 10 for our wedding, we would without hesitation give it 12, not only just for the day itself, but for the relaxing process of booking the wedding, right through to the wedding day.More

Just ate in Lisdoo restaurant recently. Service was good. The food both starters and main courses was very good. The Only gripe I would have is that they serve all these lovely meat and fish dishes with frozen or processed chips. Surely in a top...restaurant they could provide customers with fresh chips. Any other restaurant we eat in always do. I know it might sound silly but it’s very annoying.More

We dined in the marquee for safety during the covid restitutions It was a farce children screaming running around. People sitting for ages after their meals ordering drinks. And becoming verbal and raising their voices. No control in the tent whatsoever. People were totally distracted...from having a conversation with each other over the noise , then the food. Arrives What a disaster can only be described as low budget slop chewy roast , cold mash & vegetables also gravy seemed like gravy granules just awful and mostly uneaten the fish was rubbery. And cold.the batter soft and limp really Disgusting food and the deserts tasted Lije something that was lying in the fridge for a week or more We couldn’t get out fast enough. Maybe they were under pressure ; but it’s no excuse we had a gift voucher and complained but cashier only apologized. , not good enough. Will not return again very disappointed with the whole dining experienceMore

The Lisdoo was recommended to us so whilst we were staying in Dundalk for the weekend we decided to pay a visit. We were made to feel so welcome by our super friendly waitress, Sheila and the rest of the staff. The food was delicious...and the service impeccable. Staff went over and above their duties to make it an enjoyable evening for us. Will definitely return, highly recommend The LisdooMore

Food was good. Group of 8 of us and 2 people had the ribs as pictured and really enjoyed the slightly spicy bbq sauce. Some of our party said the hot wings aren’t that hot and they’re breaded chicken. The steak was great, done to...our liking and the pepper sauce is fantastic!’ Albeit a very very small portion. I would ask for more before I start as the waitresses are run off their feet. Cod was grand. We waited an hour between ordering and getting our mains. The starters came out after 35 minutes and the mains on the hour mark. It was too long for us. We would advise you to go as soon as they open the evening restaurant to avoid the long wait.More

We stopped off here for lunch one Sunday while in the area. It is a large establishment split into a bar and a carvery (and a function room upstairs I think) There were loads of staff and it was quite busy. I found the service,...fast, efficient, friendly and the food came out very quickly and was really good as well as a good portion. I had the roast beef and my partner had a burger and chips. we were both very happy. No room for dessert sadly and we left quickly as we could see people were waiting for a table.More

I know things are difficult with covid But really the carvery lunch here on a sunday, leaves a lot to be desired. Cant say the food was bad, but the service from the carvery atrocious. Food thrown up, and tutting and sighing when we wanted...to pay altogether for 9 dinners, not a cheap dinner, and as a group we were left feeling like cattle being herded. Wont Be back. Brush up customer skills ladies.More

We returned for a Sunday carvery lunch with a wider family circle. It’s our first post C19 visit here. We were met at the door by a friendly chap who wanted a contact number just in case someone reported wu flu symptoms. He asked if...we had masks - we had - and asked we wore them queuing for carvery and we did. No big deal. The usual turkey, ham, beef etc was on offer as was pre cooked salmon. The latter takes no time to cook and should always be cooked to order. The turkey was too dry for my liking. The vegetarian option looked unappetising and like it had been eaten once already. It shows they really don’t want to much bother with vegetarians but need an ‘option’. I anticipate much of this food is wasted as it’s not attractive even to look at and vegans would be viewed as from another planet but I hope I’m wrong. Always happy to be wrong. The rating here reflects the price - 25 euro for two and the pretty alright service. I suspect had I opted for turkey & ham, like my wife, it would have been 24 euro for two. Portions were fine. My roast beef was fine as was the mashed potatoes and cabbage. The roast potato seemed deep fried. I could have had carrots too. It’s like you had no cooking experience and were at home in your kitchen following a recipe book on how to roast meat and boil potatoes I’d say you’d likely get close to this. The pepper sauce is water based and if not out of a packet base well it still tastes like it. This is the only real bummer. Staff carry your food to the table for you. They still advertise a two course deal with coffee/tea but I was told it’s not available and I can get each and pay for each separately. I suspect it’s to make a few euro extra in very different, difficult times and use wu flu but I see now practical benefit it’s just them trying to make a bit extra - if we were in their shoes we’d likely do likewise. All in all it’s fine - if you want haute food there’s other places and if you want very similar Sunday lunch food at a far better deal drive to Ma Brady’s five minutes away.More

I left a review here before on how much I loved the place. Not anymore we always go here in the evenings as we prefer the bar menu. When we were brought to our table we were forgotten about and left there until I called...a member of staff to take our order. Prices have risen menu has changed a little use to be able to get a Cajun chicken burger at a set price now you have to pay 50c extra for the burger bap I was asking the waitress questions on the menu because I was trying to figure out what I could have as eating habits have changed and the lady was abrupt and rude was no help at all I wouldn’t mind there was nobody there she could have taken at least two minutes or 60 seconds of her day to try and help me hadn’t a clue in the end I ordered a salad which to my surprise was lovely unfortunately service wasn’t maybe the waitress wasn’t having a good day that’s what the expression on her face looked like anyway costs nothing to smileMore

Once more I have the occasion to lodge a complaint against a man who was using a vaporiser in the bar area where I Was having a carvery lunch Today. Seemingly he is the husband of one of the waitress staff, but I cannot see...how that gives him the right to infect everyone with vapour, as this has not yet been established as safe. The only reason I went back there is because I was given a voucher, but never again, I would let the voucher run out of date. Disgusted was my first and last opinion, and I could not even eat my meal due to this man. My contact number is 087 2611664 if you wish to contact me to confirm same, as you did not do anything with my review ofMore
