It’s been years since we called in here and we’re the losers. It was a lunchtime visit and it was dry and warm outside so we were able to sit at a tree hugging table in the fresh air. We received faultless service from young...staff but I didn’t see any sign that said a living wage was paid. I think this is important to know now. We wanted light and tasty. We got two diet cokes and I ordered half dozen raw oysters and their seafood chowder. I’ve had this dish many times and it hasn’t changed. It’s superb. The fresh oysters are really darn tasty. They come on a bed of ice some seaweed with a just right glass of porter, fresh lemon wedges and I got Tabasco and ground white pepper - white pepper is often much better than black with food. I likely could have had the oysters baked. I’ve had baked before and raw is best with oysters this fine. Their seafood chowder is really delicious and a good portion. Again I’ve had this dish often in the past and again superb. I could have kicked myself for missing out on this wonderful food these last few years; funnily my wife offered to do it for me The chowder comes with wheaten bread and butter. They’ll even serve a sunflower spread which isn’t for me, ever. My wife opted for a salmon salad which was generously portioned and 5 star tasty. She ordered a side of garlic chips. Again a great tasty portion and garlicky/tangy. It’s a sheer delight to enjoy such great food and we’ll be back soon. We didn’t need to eat the rest of the day.More

We stopped in on the way home from a day out so were hungry and ready for a nice meal . It wasn’t busy so we got seated straight away and order taken quickly . The brown bread placed on the table while waiting on...the food was really lovely and welcomed while we waited . We went straight in with main course , neither of us fully finished and although we skipped starter to have a dessert instead we opted to head on and get an ice cream on the road somewhere instead . We both agreed the mains we had were ‘grand’ , nothing bad about them whatsoever but couldn’t say they were great either and wouldn’t be dying to go back. We used to eat here quite a bit years ago but there are now a selection of restaurants in Dundalk town and Carlingford which are really very good so we hadn’t been here since pre covid but we wouldn’t be rushing to get back. The service was good and efficient , it was very dark but clean and prices were average . Again nothing bad , it was all fine , just not great or memorable - it was grand .More

One would think that a roadside establishment would provide for a passing trade but unfortunately not. Stopped for a quick bite while on long distance cycle. My expectation was a casual, good value bar food menu. Was instead presented with a 3 course lunch menu...with 1 course costing e25. There was no alternative available before 4pm on Sunday other than a selection of side dishes. We were seated in the restaurant to get a bowl of chips swimming in a pool a garlic oil. The overall atmosphere was lacklustre. Was eager to get back on the road as quickly as possible. I would advise to continue your journey to Dundalk or Carlingford where there are far better establishments available.More

The ambience, the character, and especially the food. Been here a few time but it's now the best it's ever been. French onion soup for starter, I don't know how it could be improved, it was just delicious and the med/rare fillet steak, cooked to...perfection and perfectly seasoned with champ and french fried onions.partner had garlic mushrooms and sirloin steak sandwich with sweet potato chips which again was Delicious. Service by the girls and guys was also fantastic and the Guinness! What more can I say. Honestly out of all the places I've eaten and that's a very extensive list this is right at the top. I traveled 90 minutes to get there and honestly I'd travel all day for a meal this good.More

Popped in on the way to Cabra Castle for our 20th wedding anniversary and wasn't disappointed. Olde ireland charm and decor sets the scene. Beautiful food, prompt and friendly service and you have to kiss the lucky stone. You won't be disappointed

Food was alright. Drinks were pricey charged for cordial. The place in general was the most unhealthy environment I have ever sat in, in my life. The dirt of the place was unbelievable. I have been itchy ever since I sat in there. I could...have sworn I seen fleas jumping around on the curtains and the carpets looked like they hadn’t been washed since the place opened.More

Very impressed with Fitzpatricks, from the interior to the service. No request was too much for this team! Food was fab. We will definitely be back. Well done to Fitzpatricks employing a young team and pulling it off 👍

We had an amazing experience at Fitzpatrick’s yesterday afternoon. Having last been there three years ago we hoped it would still be as good. We were not disappointed. The service was friendly and swift and impressive. Two of our family had the steak sandwich and...loved it. The mushroom and spinach risotto excellent. Fish and chips fresh and delicious. My son raved about the soda bread .More

Dropped in here this evening for something to eat. Waited for nearly 20 minutes to have order taken, despite asking twice for someone to take it and being told ‘in a minute’. Waitress that eventually came was quite rude. Told us the lunch menu was...finished, snapped them off the table and offered no alternative. Eventually left and moved on elsewhere where we were treated like paying customers and not a disposable source of income that could wait another ‘minute’.More

This restaurant was highly recommended by my partner so we made the trip from Northern Ireland to dine here and I was pleasantly surprised. Our server advised me they had no olives for the martini I ordered and asked for an alternate choice. I asked...for his suggestion and he did not disappoint with a "Cooley Crush." It was better than expected and I was surprised he nailed my tastes with only one question of what I liked. The food was fresh and delicious with very generous portions. We both left happy we decided to dine here for the evening. The building itself is really beautiful and the staff were fantastic!More
