I have to start with a big thank you to the staff. I have just read a long-winded review by another customer which is over the top in its criticism. I will try and keep this short and to the point. We always knew this...weekend was going to be hectic. It is unfair to judge any establishment based on the first weekend of re-opening during this global pandemic. So thank you to the staff who were clearly flat out and swept off their feet (can’t wait until we in the north open our place on Friday lol). Not the most exciting menu in the world but the food is good honest fare. Decent drinks menu, herself enjoyed her cocktail and I have to say I did too. Bit of a wait on the table but hey not as if we (or anyone) had anything else planned. Food also a bit of a wait but everything cooked to perfection and piping hot. Overall, very satisfied with our experience. Look forward to returning, hopefully under more normal circumstances. All the best for the run up to Christmas.More

After the restrictions eased for the opening of indoor dining, we decided to book the Fitzpatrick's restaurant in advance through their booking system for 9pm on Saturday night 05/12/2020. We were advised to arrive on time as late arrivals would have their reservation cancelled. Fair...enough. We arrived to the Fitzpatrick's, with great expectations. When we arrived into the restaurant, we were advised they were running behind schedule (approx. 15mins) and if wished, to go into the bar area to wait until called. We entered the bar area to find it was very busy with what appeared to be local men sitting around tables with a reserved sign on them. We ordered our drinks and had no option but to stand at the bar to wait as no seats were available. The bar man abruptly told us we had to leave to go outside to wait as it was "too busy". I refused to stand outside as for one, the people sitting at the tables were clearly locals who were not purchasing food and drinking only, and second, it was minus two degrees in the car before we entered the premises. Eventually another couple who were also waiting on their seats for the restaurant, offered the spare seats next to them, They had advised they had been waiting on their table for over 1 hour. We eventually were called into the restaurant which was 40 mins later. We ordered our food and only ordered main courses. My fiancé ordered steak medium rare, I ordered salmon. For two mains, we waited another 1 hour. A young waitress had placed bread and butter on the table as she was aware we had been waiting so long. We were also aware staff had been apologising to other tables around us for the long wait. When our food arrived 1 hour later, my fiancé's steak couldn't have been cooked anymore well-done. The pepper sauce was a joke. My salmon was luke warm and very small. We didn't make any comment to staff as we were so hungry at this point. I ordered a dingle gin and tonic during the meal which was on the menu along with a number of other gins. A bar man had arrived to our table to advise they only have Gordons or Bombay. I'm sorry, but don't advertise a number of gins on your menu if you don't stock them. We did plan to order dessert, however no staff appeared to our table and it had been too long before they did eventually come to pick up our plates. We paid a hefty bill of 62 Euro for what was a very poor experience with service and food. We are local enough to the area and are very sure we will not be returning. To work all week to pay for poor food and service is highly disappointing.More

Found Fitzpatricks by chance Great place filled with lots of interesting paraphernalia I had the special burger, which was seasoned so well,I think it was one of the best burgers I have ever had and the homemade chips were great and plentiful,I couldnt eat them all....All CV19 restrictions adhered to and staff were super friendly and attentive Outside the Halloween decorations were amazing and all money raised goes to charity Highly recommendedMore

We literally fell upon this place and purely because of the amount off Halloween Decorations and effort put into this establishment. You could spend hours literally browsing around all the mazing oldie world items collected over the years, it will definitely bring back some memories...of the past for many. To top things off the very friendly staff we met, we cannot wait to get back when the Covid-19 restrictions are lifted.More

Myself and my wife booked this highly recommended restaurant and we were not disappointed. Between us we ordered a starter of chicken wings, mussels and a cup of chowder. We really just got the chowder as a taster and it was delicious. Mussels and chicken...wings were fantastic and the quantity was huge. Really one starter to share would have been sufficient. I had a huge portion of the battered fish and chips and my wife had hake. We were really stuffed from the starters and probably didn't properly appreciate the main courses as a result. A pint of lager and a glass of wine brought the bill to €94 and was good value for what we got. From a Covid point of view, everything seemed to us to be in order and we are quite fussy about this. I would definitely call in again, probably 4.5 out of 5More

Booked here special treat for my husbands birthday. Was top class from beginning to end. Service is as always swift efficient and friendly. The food is delicious for starters we had the mussels and the chowder both were as always mouth watering. I had the...fish & chips served with chips peas and tartar sauce, simple the best. Tony had the sirloin with all of the trimmings and said it was perfect. Washed down with a pint it went down well. Can't wait to return 👏👏More

Really enjoyed our Sunday roast dinner. Staff were very hospitable and friendly. Food was tasty and I loved how everything was fresh and home made which is hard to come across. Beautifully decorated and is also located in a stunning area with amazing views. Portion...sizes are huge so I would advice not eating anything prior. Will definitely be back with friends next time.More

We had a great evening in this restaurant, the food was superb and the service absolutely impeccable. The staff are young and extremely professional, attentive, friendly and polite. They are really well trained and organised. The place was busy and you could see that the...staff were very busy but yet we got excellent attention every time we needed it. The food was so enjoyable, all 4 of us complimented our starters and main courses. The portions are huge! So no room for dessert. Also, I felt very safe within the covid19 context, with great space between customers and the staff were also very aware in the way they handled everything and served the tables. I wasn’t sure how I would feel having a meal in a public place but I could relaxed completely. Such a great moment and I would highly recommend this place.More
