We had coffee and the rhubarb/apple crumble and it was delicious! The place has a relaxed, quirky vibe, with antiques and classical music playing in the background.

The decor may be quirky but there is nothing quirky about the baking. Everything is home baked. If you want to know what your granny's baking tasted like, this is the place to find out.

Ohh dear... Peter is a nice chap, and the cafe is quaint... and the location is superb. The magic breaks down when it comes to hygiene. The coffee cup I had was cracked on the inside, and the cracks were filthy. This was beaten by...the milkjug... also cracked on the inside, and the cracks were filthy... but the 'high-tide' rings inside the jug put me off completely. The cake from the vitrine was fetched and placed on a (cracked) plate using unwashed hands... I wonder how many times it had been 'handled' before it got to the vitrine! Sad... applying a few basic hygiene procedures, and it would be a great cafe. gMore

Not much open on a Sunday so decided to try Peter’s. I ordered a hot chocolate that was watery with most likely no milk at all. We shared a whisky cake (or as it was called, a whiskey kake). It was dry and stale with...no whisky flavour. To be fair my husband’s tea was good. The sink in the ladies toilet was not in operation and from other comments it appears to have been like that for quite a while. The cafe was dirty and very quirky. The misspellings for the goods on offer were hilarious.More

We ended up here just by chance, as we had not seen any reviews. The place is full of interesting stuff and Peter runs it very efficiently. He is an interesting person, and it's worth having a good chat with him. The cakes were delicious...and he was very friendly. Don't go if you are looking for a more standard place Starbucks style. Go if you appreciate history, good cakes and a bit of a laugh.More

If you like miserable oul Cafe owners this is the place for you! If you are in a great mood and need to be taken down a level of happiness or two you have to go in and ask for a take away coffee here!...This guy Pete has worked in hospitality too long, hang up the boots Pete and stop bringing down the good people of Kerry's reputationMore

We LOVED Peter's Place Cafe in Ireland. After a long drive around the Ring of Kerry we tired and hungry when we saw this tiny little cafe in town. It didn't look like much on the outside but we decided to stop in anyway. His...potato leek soup was the best I've ever had as were the scones. The cappuccinos were delicious. He makes everything himself and I would imagine anything you ordered would be delicious.More
