We made a very last minute reservation here after being unsure of where to eat in Athlone. I got a table for 8:30pm luckily on a Saturday night. The place was hopping, but was small (about 8 tables maybe) so we were never overlooked or...forgotten about by staff. We had all three courses - the main was unbelievable - my partner had pizza & I had bolognaise with Penne pasta. Some ice cream to finish too! We were both pleasantly surprised by this restaurant. We walked in with no booking and the waitress seated us immediately. Fresh and tasty pasta,very good for the price. Lovely dessert, my boyfriend really enjoyed the banoffee pie. Absolutely dreadful restaurant I ordered the bruschetta which came out as soggy bread and tomatoes no basil or salt on the tomatoes...then my pasta dish was supposed to be chicken and mushrooms in a creamy sauce the sauce was wattery and it just tasted of...nutmeg. Very disappointing. Staff serving were lovely and very embarrassed when I complained. Should of read more reviews on this place.More

Came here 3 adults 3 kids. So reasonable. Food fantastic. Wine very good. Staff fabulous! Will be back

Excellent service, food, atmosphere and value for money. Had a tagliatelle and salmon pizza and were 2nd to none. We will be back......... with friends!

The garlic bread is two slices of bread with garlic butter and cheese. The only part of the bread that was actually toasted was the crust portion. The bread itself wasn’t toasted and because of that, it’s a oily soggy mess. The two slices of...“garlic bread” came wrapped in tinfoil so the cheese stuck to the top and because the bread was soggy from the garlic butter it ripped all of the cheese from the top of one of them along with some of the bread itself. The pasta also lacked any kind of flavour. The only thing I enjoyed from this was the can of coke.More

Had a fantastic meal in Pavarotti's tonight, very busy spot.. Served by the owners daughter.. Food prepared by her partner.. A great run family business.. Food outstanding!

Superb Italian restaurant as always. Having visited many restaurants in Italy, Pavarotti’s is truly authentic. A visit to Athlone is not complete without Pavarotti's.

Group of 6 of us. Of course we had nothing booked- seen this place and delighted that we could get in. Service was excellent the girl was really patient and attentive followed by a second waitress who kept asking if we were ok too. Really...appreciated. Pints of Guinness were on tap from next door. Starters bruschetta was on fresh bread and quite nice. The mains were great. And after the average starters we were really pleasantly surprised. Carbonara, meatballs, cannelloni and the spicy pizza. All grand and we enjoyed the evening.More

The pizza was the best we’ve had in Ireland! Will be making this our new regular spot! The pasta dishes we also great!

Positives - - Lovely staff - Tables kept very clean - Menu varied and offers something for everyone - Love the thin crispy bases on the pizzas Negatives - - When I went found the quality of the pizza varied. We ate here last night and had a lovely meal. Simple and tasty. Starters were Bruschetta, ample and it tasted like the tomatoes were marinated so really tasty. Pavs potatoes was tasty with the anchovies and olives again simple but tasty. Pasta Ai fungi was...very flavoursome as was my Pasta Putanesca. It had lovely flavours going on. Too full to have deserts and the Tiramisu wasn’t ready. Reasonably priced staff were pleasant but may have been taken up with pizzas going in to the pub next door. House wine wasn’t to our taste but I would go back as it was a nice Authentic Italian meal. Easy to see why this place has lasted so long. Thanks and we’ll see you again.More
