Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I had been to Thyme Restuarant a few years ago on a previous visit to Athlone and I was delighted to get a chance to return. The staff were very welcoming and the food was really delicious and beautifully presented. We had the Value Menu,...which is available all evening on Sunday to Thursday. There is a good selection of items available. The restaurant is very nicely decorated and very comfortable.More

Staff and service was excellent, the monkfish starter was extraordinary (never tasted anything like it) and the vegetables were sensational. We booked Thyme for our 10 year wedding anniversary and did not disappoint. Definitely return again and recommend to everyone.

We again visited Thyme for Sunday lunch. The meal was outstanding. We each had a different starter: sea trout ; terrine of rabbit and cheese and onion tart. The flavours in each were superb. Main courses were: slow cooked lamb; John Dory, and cod. Again...each was faultless. Deserts: rhubarb and custard tart; chocolate and orange delice and Black Forest baba - all superb. This is one of the best restaurants in Ireland. If you get a chance go.More

Such a fantastic restaurant. We have gone for years and John, Sharon and Tara have always made us feel so welcome. Recently we came with a vegan friend Meah and they accommodated us so well obviously they aren't a vegan restaurant but we gave them...a days notice and nothing was too much trouble. Easy to see why it was so busy and why they keep winning awards. Thanks again, Cormac.More

This was our first visit to Thyme Restaurant but it certainly won’t be our last. The food was simply sensational. Four exceptional courses for €39 was fantastic value. The service was also fantastic. Staff were attentive, knowledgeable and very friendly. Would highly recommend.

Everything was delicious, if I could have ordered a plate of the amuse bouch I would, this was followed by fresh baked bread. The menu is small however I could easily have chosen any of the options. I had the ham hock and egg to...start, it was excellent. Cod for main, with sides of potatoes and vegetables and a chocolate mousse, a nice coffee to finish. Service was the best I’ve had anywhere in ireland for a long time. They were all so friendly and efficient. Also the wine list is reasonably priced. Truly the nicest meal I’ve had this year. Keep up the good work.More

We had a booking for two on a Saturday night 11th Feb 23. We shared a bottle of wine and 2 courses from the Dinner menu (starters and mains). Hamhock/Deer and Scallops/Halibut. Food was presented beautifully and the service was efficient and friendly. We had...a lovely experience there and it was undoubtedly one of the highlights of our trip! I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Thyme and we will be back if we are visiting Athlone again.More

Enjoyed a delicious dinner before the New Year. Everything we tried was wonderful and fresh. The restaurant was noisy and bright, we were expecting something more romantic, but we will definitely return! Very friendly and quick staff.

Hi Niamh, Thank you for your enquiry. Our restaurant is wheelchair accessible but we are situated in an old building and our toilets are down a stairs. Apologies if this is not suitable, Kind Regards, John Coffey
