Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The hotel is a bit dated. The food was poor - unlikely to have been cooked by an actual chef. Front part is all that’s open so no alcohol on tap, some bottled beverages in a cafe environment There wasn’t much else open or on...in Lisdoonvarna when we stayed however still underwhelmed by the overall experience - in particular as it was by some distance the most expensive of our 5 nights along the west coastMore

Appetizing food and excellent service were hallmarks of this restaurant and all meals served were above average in quality and reasonably Definitely a must-stop when you are in Lisdoovarna

Great 3 night stay here, big, clean well laid out bedroom. Breakfast was very good, recommend paying at booking as it’s a bit pricier if you order off the menu. Dinner was really good, two fish dishes that were way better than a lot of...more expensive places. Great, reasonably priced desserts and coffee. The vegetarian options were also very good and were surprisingly more interesting than you’d expect from a hotel. Staff were good with Antonio, who served breakfast and the bar especially helpful. Can’t recommend highly enough!More

My mother and I had a really lovely lunch here in the covered outdoor area in the garden. The food was lovely, staff attentive and the coffee was great. I would definitely recommend eating here.

Four of us travelled from Donegal on our staycation in the southwest of Ireland and stopped in Lisdoonvarna for 4 nights, staying in the Royal Spa hotel. I would like to thank Ann and her superb staff, the names I remember were Gabriel and Antonio,...and another young woman who’s name I never got, unfortunately. They were all so pleasant and helpful to us all throughout our visit. A very homely hotel, food was beautiful and we had a great time. Will be back again and will recommend it to family, friends and everyone else. From Kay, Breege, John and KathleenMore

As things open up from covid , it is good to find that quality has not diminished at this reliable hotel . As yet seating is only outside albeit in a comfortable, covered alcove with proper chairs and heaters on the wall. The menu though...limited as yet can be adapted to fit special dietary needs.More

Hotel had just opened its doors after lockdown and we a took 3 a three day midweek trip. The rooms were spotless and very comfortable. The check in was very quick. Breakfast was excellent with great quality coffee. The staff were very attentive both in...restaurant and bar. The bar is wonderful with throw back pictures from the Lisdoonvarna festivals of the 1980s and 90s and if like me you frequented these annual events you will love this bar. Definitely recommend this hotel its ideally located in the centre of the town with easy access to all the sights. Will be back. Thanks for a lovely stay.More

Hotel was fine. Rooms were clean though very basic and a bit bare as everything was removed for covid. Bit annoyed as I chose the place as it had a restaurant with options I like the look of and we thought it would be better...to eat in the hotel with the covid situation but was informed when I got there the restaurant closes at 5. They had signs outside advertising live music with food late but was informed that was all booked out recently. Would have been nice if they'd advertised that on booking so people who were staying would have a chance to book in (there was nothing on their website). Was a bit annoying to come back to hotel to see people eating when we couldnt get anything and then overhearing the music from our room we had no option to book. I'd avoid breakfast as it was really poor if you're not getting a fry. French toast with fresh fruit was Soggy cold french toast with 3/4 of a strawberry, half a grape and a sliver of orange.More
