Exquisite as always !!! If you Ever get the chance to eat here don’t even think about it just do! This is a one star Michelin Restaurant and deservedly so.!Magnificent food and I can’t recommend it highly enough.!
Livy wrote of Scipio, Ultima cedabant primis. When Wild Honey Inn was awarded its M star 5 starters 5 mains and 4 deserts were on offer for €60. Now is 3/3/3 for €90. Wines are outrageously priced even by Irish standards. Bread offering is very...Ordinary no amuse Bouche no amouse Desert. No petit Fours. At these prices would a coffee be included- NO WAY. Food is good but Thyme in ATHLONE Bib way better. Accommodation- large room, well Furnished- synthetic duvet and Foam pillows are a poor offering. Lisdoonvarna itself was dead on a Saturday night in July hugh season. Verdict not including 10% deposit €500 dinner bed /breakfast for 2 wirh modest wine selections is not justified by any superlative food or Accommodation quality. Don’t get me wrong, the food is good it’s just not good enough for the price- by a long long wayMore
Got a gift voucher for this Inn.It was obligatory to stay overnight to eat in their Michelin star restaurant when using the voucher. We were welcomed by Kate our host and were given a lovely ground floor spacious room with extremely comfortable bed. Room was...immaculate with crisp white bedlinen. Restaurant was cosy and inviting. We were however, somewhat disappointed by the limited variety of beers to choose from and thought the prices of wines were very costly for a pub style restaurant, a glass being €10.50 and the cheapest bottle €38. We appreciate the costs of serving quality food but felt the wines were overpriced and not good value. Our waitress was very pleasant and attentive both at dinner and breakfast. Overall, a nice stay.More
This was my first visit to The Wild Honey Inn but it most certainly won't be my last. The food here was just amazing. Everything I had was absolutely delicious. The 2 girls who served us could not have been nicer. They were so informed...and so pleasant. The whole evening was wonderful and i would highly recommend a visit.More
After a long time waiting we finally got to visit here . Food was good and service was great if a bit slow . For starters we had Scallops and Duck followed by Turbot and Steak . Food was good but for 3 courses at...€80 a head was way too much not to mention € 6 for a bottle of water is a bit extravagant .Worth a visit if you want to eat in a Michelin star Restaurant but way overpriced for food provided which can be enjoyed in other Restaurants for half of the price here . A no show or late cancellation penalty of €55 per person on your card is excessive and in all the Restaurants I have visited I have never seen this . Not good enough in these times when you are been encouraged to support local business .More
From the moment you set foot in the bar you are made to feel most welcome. The atmosphere is cosy and friendly, the open fire most welcoming. We opted to have a drink first and wait for our table, to be given the choice was a...nice touch. The hostess Kate was very friendly and attentive. The wine excellent. As for the food, what can I say but delicious, real irish food, like home cooking fine dining style. If you ever get the chance to eat here, dont even think about it just do.More
We visited this lovely place yesterday. The building is a restored house and old style pub which is now a lovely and stylish restaurant and bar keeping the old design features of the building. The wood floors, the wainscotting, the glass and wood panels at...the doors that used protect people from draughts. A big open fireplace. The food. This is a one star Michelin restaurant and deservedly so. The menu is a three course menu for €65 pp. There are three to four choices for each course. We started with Wild white crabmeat in a gazpacho with leaves. Gorgeous. Subtle apple pieces in the crab. Flavours delicate. Our mains were slow cookedPork cheeks in a cream sauce flavoured with tiny mushrooms, broad beans and obviously flavours I can't identify but with tiny roast potatoes it was magnificent. I would have run my finger into the little tiny copper pot it came in but as the restaurant was filling I thought not. It was divine. Desert. I had the creamiest creme brulee with an apple sorbet on the side with shortcake biscuit. He had seared pineapple with pineapple sorbet and lots of other gorgeous flavours. We had a large bottle of sparkling water, pre dinner drinks and a carafe of Spanish Red. The total came to 176 before tip. I'd go again to try the other courses on the menu. Lucky people who live nearby to do so. We'll have to wait and visit again next year. This is a beautiful restaurant. Magnificent food and I can't recommend it highly enough. The staff and service are very professional but friendly and very efficient. It is best to book.More
I don't know if it was because of all the fabulous reviews I read, but I was underwhelmed. I had the steak - it was lovely. The chips were great and the celeriac mash was delicious. The dessert was great. The bread at the start...of the meal was very disappointing. The room I had was tiny and the ensuite was even smaller. I asked for porridge at breakfast - it wasn't on the menu. I got delicious creamy porridge. So I can't put my finger on why I will not be returning.More
This is not just a restaurant, though it is an excellent place to eat, it has delightful rooms and a wonderful breakfast. The dinner and B&B option is attractive. The food is very good, am interesting range of options, well presented and served with panache....The wine list is interesting.More
Excellent experience from start to finish Check in easy , lovely old room but freshly decorated, very clean everywhere. Great menu, sharp service. Very chilled out atmosphere. Lovely breakfast I’d highly recommend, easy to see why it wins so many awards.
We go to the Wild Honey Inn every year and every time it is always absolutely fantastic. The food is perfection on a plate and last time was no different. We enjoyed every minute and every bite of food and we will be back again...soon.More
Stayed in the Wild Honey Inn last weekend and had the pleasure of their 3 course menu on Saturday night. To start I had the smoked eel - simply divine. Had the lamp rump for main which was delicious and finished with a rhubarb dessert....My wife had the cured salmon for starter and hake for main, finishing with the poached pineapple dessert. Every course from start to finish was top quality. The 3 course for a Michelin experience at €60 is great value also. Will definitely be returning.More
We had rib eye steak and black sole. The rib eye was devine succulent beautifully cooked. Chips were home made and really tasty also. Black sole was delicious. Starters & dessert also delicious
My second visit. Fantastic food - at dinner and breakfast. Lovely room, great ‘feel’ of welcome and care from all the staff. Michelin star for a reason- well worth the trip
