Stopped for quick bit to eat on way back to Dublin...fish and chips delicious..fast and friendly service...

There was a good welcome on both occasions we ate there, and the staff are very firendly. The service was quick and the food was well cooked. Good atmosphere, and live music on the second visit. Very pleasant all round.

This is one of the best places I have ever eaten in. My husband and I went for a Sunday drive and randomly picked this place when we got to Oughterard and were feeling peckish. What a great choice. We both had the beef Sunday...roast. It was absolutely delicious, cooked to perfection. The service was excellent and the venue was charming. I liked the extra touches like blankets in case you want to sit outside and the lovely artwork on the walls. We will go out of our way to visit again.More

Very cozy mood inside, the food was splendid. The people were welcoming and helpful. Would definitely recommend for people looking for a bite.

Good reason it was named Galway bar of the year. This is such a fantastic bar and restaurant. The atmosphere, service and food are wonderful. We have been to this restaurant many times and it is always fantastic. We went with our son and his wife and 2 children. The food and service was excellent. The chowder was delicious. Powers is in a busy village and has the charm of and old pub but their reputation for good food and a friendly atmosphere is known for a long time ! We love sitting at the window seats as that’s the old pub part ....There parking in the village and there’s a public car park a min walk away ! Good is good and roast dinners steaks etc but they do have a few alternatives too for a more casual bite ! The staff are friendly and the pint of Guinness great wines hood and a nice selection of deserts ! If your heading to Clifden from Galway city you will pass through Oughtetard co Galway !! (enjoy you won’t be disappointed only thing is they May or May not take a reservation but phone 1 st explain your planning to stop)More

Spectacular food and superior service provided by the masterful Rory and his staff. Fish and chips were succulent to the last morsel, the rhubarb tart hit all the sweet notes, and the Irish Coffee simply swept me away. Glad to be back in this welcoming...environment and stellar offerings!More
