Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Faherty's is a brilliant pub and very much a landmark in Oughterard. The staff are very courteous, efficient and know how to value and treat their customers. Certainly one of the best if not the best pints in Oughterard!

The fish soup is to die for and locally produced soda bread marvelous. Three of us ate here, everything was good and beer was great.

This is a proper pub, with proper - mainly local - customers. Probably one of the few remaining places where the locals can go without being overrun with tourists. As such, a visitor from out of town will always get strange looks and slow service....Despite all this, it's an enjoyable place to visit.More

Stopped in here with my daughter when we happened upon Oughterard. Lovely family owns the place, and owner’s daughter was very pleasant and helpful. Locals were friendly and welcoming to us tourists from the States, we felt right at home. It was everything an Irish...pub should be. Also... great pints! 🍻More

An unselfconscious true local pub, loved and frequented by the locals, with live music (Gaelic, Celtic, folk) and atmosphere to die for. Evocative remnants of Irish life festoon the walls

Faherty's is a friendly pub with a large group of local patrons. They were full on our first night but we came back the next night and enjoyed the local atmosphere. We sampled a couple of beers and also had a Jameson neat. The bar...staff gave us good advice on the beer selection and Jameson is always a good choice in Ireland.More

Friendly quick service in decent pub specialising in pizza (alongside normal looking menu choices). We all had pizza so can't comment on the other food items but the pizzas were very good and visually the other dishes looked nice enough.

The pub looked to be the perfect Irish spot to enjoy the culture, food, music and atmosphere. In fact, the meal was good, and the service was well carried out, the problem was that my young American family was swept straight upstairs to a sterile...overflow room where we dined alone, without an Irishman in sight. Disappointing seating as you can imagine.More
