Great restaurant, had some really lovely food there on Friday night. Chicken was gorgeous and they had great gluten free options on offer as well which was very important for us. Service was excellent and all staff had visors which is obviously very important in...these times.More

Had brunch last weekend and not one of the staff wore masks or gloves, nor did they stand 6 feet apart when taking orders or serving. Will not be going there again until they tighten up social distancing procedures.

The House was a fabulous find for lunch, just above the seaside drive in Howth. It’s cozy and the employees are kind and enjoyable. If tomato soup is on the menu- don’t pass this up! It’s chunky with lots of vegetables and comes with the...restaurant’s own baked, sweet brown bread. It’s a meal in itself but I also ordered the Irish cheeseboard which came with a sharp cheddar and blue cheese. The menu overall looked wonderful with fish tacos, avocado and egg toast as well as several other varieties including fabulous looking homemade baked goods. After lunch take a walk to the local church in the square before heading back down to the village. Howth is a relaxing seaside gem. Do not miss it!More

I was visiting a friend in Howthe and she suggested having brunch at The House and I'm glad she did, it was really wonderful. Food was filling and generously portioned, it's a cosy set up hence the name 'the house' but I feel the tables...can do without being that crammed against each other. I had some delicious hot chocolate complete with marshmallows, some eggs benedict, pancakes, and a fried chicken sandwich - left there very stuffed and ready to walk off all that food. The staff were gracious and attentive as well.More

Searched for a nice place to have brunch, came upon this very lively (read noisy) cafe, and managed to get a seat. Wished we hadn't! I had the pancake which was over priced, and bland. The tables are squeezed very close together, and it didn't...make an enjoyable visit as a result. Service was under immense pressure and did very well considering, but I find it hard to enjoy myself and relax when staff are visibly under pressure and struggling - it's not conducive to a relaxed brunch. We were glad to get out of there!More

We thought... Howth, fishing village; the chowder has to be good. We were wrong. Two large bowls of a watery grey substance loaded with mussel and cockle shells most of which were empty arrived at the table 25 minutes later. There were a few overcooked...cockles and mussels on the bottom amongst a few bits of tasteless white fish. We tried valiantly but it was inedible. In fairness to the waitress she took the 2 Chowders off the bill and said the chef had "accidetally" poured the mussel water into the soup! We didn't order anything else as we didn't have the time to wait another 25 minutes. So we left hungry and disappointedMore

Really enjoyed the vibe (busy, lots of friends catching up post Christmas), excellent coffee and a very good sausage, bacon and fried egg sandwich for brunch. A good place for brunch.

Brunch in House was the only negative part of a lovely day in Howth. We were in hungry and cheerful after a gorgeous walk - and left still hungry and a whole lot less cheerful. Maybe we just got them on a very bad day...but our waiter was very rude to the point that it really negatively impacted the meal. My salad at about Eur 13 was about the size of a side salad. I thought about ordering a couple of sides but the unfriendly atmosphere put me off.More
