Really good place, and fantastic food, have been there a few times, the service have been always good but today. I was having dinner with my 0artmer, having lobster, calamari, and white wine, all good but the bill included a cafe we didnt order and 10€ service charge, I have tried to ask about that but impossible, the waiter just said yes and thank you when asking about that so decided to stop complaining. So fissaponited for the 13.50€ extra euros charge.

Lunch for two. Great location along the west pier in Howth. Had an excellent lunch with great food and service. We shared a plate of squid in a simple light batter to start, fresh and very good. Main course for both of us was a delicious monkfish, prawn and chorizo dish with tomatoes and sherry in a creamy base, fantastic tastes. Overall a great experience, highly recommended and worth a visit.

After finishing the Howth cliff walk we were tired and hungry looking for a good seafood place. Stumbled upon this gem and decided to give it a shot - it was DELICIOUS! We were seated in a small room that was covered with octopus-inspired wall art and the ambience was fun and we enjoyed the privacy as well. We ordered both monkfish dishes, the paella, mussels, both potato sides, and oysters. We also had a white and red wine, both were very enjoyable. The food was absolutely amazing, it’s a little pricey but we felt it was worth it! Absolutely recommend the oysters, they were fresh and delicious. Also the Sherry monkfish was to die for - it’s a creamy sauce and the monkfish was cooked perfectly. We had an absolutely amazing time, the server was very kind and friendly. They were busy but the food came out relatively quickly and everything was fresh and/or piping hot.

The place is very cute and atmospheric, we were there for 4.15 sitting and it was lively but not over busy I opted for the shellfish platter my husband ordered the paella We were told there was no Dublin bay prawns but that our respective meals would be made up with other shellfish. My platter arrived with just 6 gambon prawns and a bowl of mussels. Not exactly a platter Not only were the Dublin bay guys missing but there were no crab claws either as described on the menu. It was expensive for what we got. Clare

Visited with my friend, got seated in a cute little lounge. We ordered a bottle of wine, seafood plate for 2 and some startes like calamari and chips. Fresh and tasty food (yummy calamaris!). Good experience overall, friendly staff. I'd rate it between good and very good, not the best though.

My husband & I had lunch here on Saturday while staying overnight in Howth. He had seen it when he was looking online for places to eat & I am so glad he did! Although bookings were necessary due to Covid, the waitress was able to accommodate us with an outside table. We ordered the sharing platter of fresh king prawns & mussels in the most devine white wine & cream sauce, prawn pil pil, chorizo patatas bravas & plain chips. My mouth is watering thinking about them now! Do yourself a favour if you are in Howth & like seafood and go here, you will not be disappointed!

We were delighted to get a table on a very busy Sunday afternoon. Ordered calamari whitebait and a shellfish platter with a glass of wine. Calamari and white could not be faulted however the mussels with the platter were cold. Not sure it should be called a platter with just prawns and mussels??? We had to ask twice for the glass of wine and on paying the bill we were charged twice. We did not notice the service charge on the menu so we tipped twice. (Our fault) Good food but with over all experience not sure we will return. Pity we are seafood lovers.

Just finished having a late lunch at Octopussy's and what a real treat it was!! Service was excellent and the food absolutely delicious. The calamari was superb along with the scallops and we then decided to add the huge tiger shrimp after our food was served up, nothing being a problem. Totally recommend a visit!!!

Visited octopussy today, Friday 25th. We sat outside on the benches, firstly the waitress was excellent, very friendly and efficient. We had the seafood platter, chorizo bravas and scampi. The scampi was so delicious and light, the bravas were also delicious- the chorizo was very pungent and tasty. The real highlight was the mussels on the platter, they were seasoned to perfection. Overall a delicious and enjoyable lunch, thanks a million.

We were sat rather quickly with water brought immediately but it went downhill from there. The server came around to take our order but we weren’t quite ready to order our main meals, but we ordered a platter of bread and olives. At about 20 minutes after, I decided to leave the group to take advantage of the sunny weather that was soon to leave, leaving two others at the table. It took 30 minutes for anyone to come back with the bread, and they basically threw it on the table and immediately walked away without asking to take the full order. There was another table who had sat and ordered their whole meal at the same time as us, and by the time our party left, the other table hadn’t received any of their food either. The rest of the party left before ordering any more food because it would not have been worth the wait.

It's just fantastically fresh, perfectly cooked seafood from their own fishmonger next door, served by wonderful staff. It's the ideal place if you come to Howth for a stroll around and are looking for something informal and delicious. Best mussels (as part of the shellfish platter, E20 for two people) that we've ever had, and we've had quite a few. And the best scampi too (E11), which is really saying something. It actually makes me insanely happy to know that there is still somewhere where you can get top-quality, fresh, immaculately cooked seafood at reasonable prices, all on the harbourside.

Lovely meal tonight in Octopussy. Service was excellent with very friendly staff in this very busy small but comfortable restaurant along the pier in Howth. We definitely over ordered and the starter/small plate dishes of scampi and calamari were very generous portions. We also had spicey prawn Piri piri which was also a very generous portion. My partners fish and chips was so fresh it literally melted in the mouth. Nice wine selection by the glass. I tried a lovely Albarino followed by a NZ Sauvignon blanc My partner Had a lovely glass of rose. Our bill was served with very generous portions of limoncello. Lots of tourists dining here also from Europe and US and people are very willing to queue for approx 30 mins per table so it’s reputation obviously proceeded it as there were plenty of restaurants nearby with no queue! Overall an excellent experience. Very reasonably priced for top quality food and service

For about 2 or 2.5 years we have been coming to Octopussy at least 2/3 times a month. Sometimes alone, sometimes with friends. We live about 55 km from the restaurant. I love this restaurant, the service is fantastic and the food is beyond words - wonderful. Sometimes we wait for a table for up to an hour but we wait because we know it's worth it. The food is insanely delicious. It's worth the wait. Believe me.

Cute, small and bustling place on the waterfront. With the most friendly and top notch staff, just one lady who was super cheerful and amazingly serving everyone to top satisfaction. Food was plentiful and tasted superb. “Small” per the menu can make you wary on how much food you get but they are not stingy with quantity. Wonderful visit!

This is in the perfect seaside town of Howth. Take a 30 min train out to Howth and then grab lunch here. Delicious seafood tapas and amazing wine selection. Fresh, fresh, fresh! We had the best French white wine to accompany our bountiful plate of seafood: shrimp, mussels, langoustines, and clams. The best! We just wanted to sit, eat, and take in the sights of the water. Perfect afternoon outside of Dublin.
