This was my third visit to The Lady Helen. Each time I have had the 7 course tasting menu with the wine pairings. Every aspect of the dining experience (food, service, atmosphere) has been outstanding. Can’t wait to return.

We have wanted to experience Lady Helen for sometime but with the stipulation that you must also be a guest at the hotel we gave it a miss. But recently we got a very generous gift voucher for Mount Juliet which gave us the incentive...to finally indulge ourselves. I’ll review the hotel stay on the appropriate page. Being December 2021 there were some Covid restrictions but none that impacted on our stay. We had booked our dinner for 7:30 as we were going for the 9 Course Tasting menu and to really indulge we also opted for the wine pairing. We had a lovely table by the window but on dark mid December evening you did not get the lovely view of the river. On sitting down we were given the complimentary glass of champagne which was obviously very nice. Service then commenced pretty quickly before we had a chance to finish our glass of bubbles which meant the first course and we were not clear if the champagne was to go with it or was it’s own wine going to arrive? Shortly after wine did appear but again confusion on whether it was for that course or the next one to follow. Of course we should have asked and got clarification but in the moment we did not. As it turned out it was for the first course but we were nearly finished before it arrived and when the second course quickly followed we still had a half glass of champagne and a half glass of first course wine!! As we finally got caught up with the service we were starting to feel the effects of a rather rushed first half of the 9 courses. This is our one and only complaint…..what was the rush to get our first four-five dishes out to the table? The table was not booked for another sitting and with all diners being guests of the hotel nobody had to be in a rush to a precooked taxi? We had all night to spend enjoying a well timed meal but instead we were seemingly on the clock. The second half of the meal did come at a more reasonable pace which meant we could savour it and continue to do so while waiting for the one to follow. The food itself was of the highest quality, all the flavour and level of expertise one would expect. One tip I would give anyone opting for the indulgence of a Tasting Menu with Wine Pairing go for the 7 Course, we found the 9 to be too much, mainly on the wine front. If the 9 catches your fancy just go with a bottle (or two) of your own choice. We have had the wine pairings in places like Chapter One, Glovers Alley & the exceptional Lady Anne (nearby) and we still found the 9 too much. Great food, great staff, great ambiance….just slow it down a wee bit!More

A wonderful experience - the staff were excellent, accommodating of our various dietary needs (pescatarian and no fish/shellfish) and very clear in explaining and sharing information about the wines (we had the tasting menu and wine pairing) and the various dishes. The atmosphere while naturally...formal was comfortable rather than stuffy because of how welcoming and friendly the staff were. The food was a delight and the wines fabulous. Each course was something interesting and unexpected, and the portions were excellent sizes to ensure we were actually able to finish all of them given it was a long tasting menu. The one suggestion I’d make is starting your meal earlier than 8.30pm if you plan to do the tasting menu - we finished quite late as a result!More

My daughter and I visited the Michelin starred Lady Helen restaurant in Mount Juliet. We ordered the seven course tasting menu. From start to finish it was just delicious. Jean Baptiste the sommelier described the wine pairing and we decided to go with that. Every...morsel was perfectly balanced and the attention to detail was extraordinary. The room itself was a beautiful setting, everything down to the plates and cutlery has been carefully chosen to complement the food. The service was friendly, welcoming, professional but yet unfussy. Thank you to Head Chef John Kelly and his team for a wonderful culinary experience.More

Don’t even know where to start. The food is divine and beautiful. Our group went for the 7 step meals. Special diet requirement is also accommodate quickly. I would certainly recommend this for people who enjoy excellent food and service.

Stayed at Mount Juliet for a few days and had the pleasure of experiencing the 7 course tasting menu with matching wines at the Lady Ann. The food was absolutely terrific with the highlight being the rose veal. One of the best dishes I have...ever had and its worth noting I am not a big fan of veal based on previous experience. However this blew me away. Each of the dishes were excellent and we both thoroughly enjoyed it. Highly recommended. Not cheap though particularly if paired with an overnight stay.More

First time here and it did not disappoint. Prices and quality representative of its Michelin Star. Every dish of the tasting menu was special, serviced with great knowledge and expertise in a beautiful room. While staff wore face masks, it was a pleasure to dine...where the food and service was the centre of attention for once and not Covid 19, as seems to be the case in other restaurants. Would highly recommendMore

Fabulous restaurant in a glorious setting. We had the 7 course tasting menu at 105 euros. Gorgeous food and they were happy to make adjustments for courses where allergy or dislikes were an issue. The vegetarian was also happy with her tasting menu, the wine...list isn’t huge but plenty of value if you know what you are looking for. Very solid service but it’s all a bit weird because of Covid. If I was going back I would stay in the house and not the Hunters yard which is just a bit ‘so so’More

With covid we thought a night away with a meal would be a great pick me up. We booked into the restaurant, offering a 7 and 9 course tasting menu with a 2 or 3 course ala cart. Not impressed with the greeting, now bear in...mind this is suppose to be top end Michelin star and prices to match.Decor is uninspiring, We were given the brief on the menus and offered water. We chose the 3 course menu Scallops, then Turbot with a cheese board to follow.Wine we chose was a Italian Pecorino white €44 which they didn't have,so changed to a New Zealand marbourgh same sort of price. 2 minute cones of mackerel mouse which needn't have bothered ,followed by a respectable MOB .The Scallop was under seasoned, and tasteless, Then the overcooked Turbot in a very washy tasteless sauce.Cheese nice ,crackers not so,pettits fours terrible Our bill for 2 including 2 glasses of prosecco €240.00 Service so so,meal not good if you are at this level of costs ie 5 star then everything has to be 5 star.We have eaten at plenty of top restaurants here and in UK etc this isn't one for a return.More

Someone asked about the menu, so I'm sharing screen shots I took of the one I got at Afternoon Tea. I had the option of ordering tea or lunch. I arrived at 3:30pm (this past January), so too early for dinner. Hope it helps!

Had an amazing meal here, really top class. Although only a limited a la carte menu due to Covid 19, we felt it offered a reasonable choice. Each course was delicious. A varied wine list, competitively priced given the standard of the restaurant, cheapest bottles...were €36. We will definitely return at a future date when the full menu is available. We felt very rushed, the ninety minute time limit and speedy, speedy service had us looking at our watches all the time.More

No formal dress code as far as I know but it is a fancy place. I wore a blazer and trousers. There were no kids there when we were there so I’m not sure. Hope this helps.

Hi. This will depend on what you order and if you are talking about per course or for a 3 course meal. I suggest you check their website and the menu choice for up to date prices
