Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

In for lunch, waiting for a cap after a 15 kilometer walk long the river Nore. Great sandwiches and a cosy atmosphere. Nice people.

Don’t bother. Brusque (untrained?) teenage staff who took a long time to give us a menu and more or less grunted at us. Very ordinary lunch, two teas and two plates were €30.

Very disappointed I thought the place would have improved since my last visit but it was just the same. Boring Panine, stodgy too much cheese and a tiny piece of ham. They had run out of fresh tomatoes. Asked for mustard to jazz it up...a bit and was told curtly they don't have mustard. Coffee was good but we definitely won't be back.More

Handed the menus, went in ordered and paid for our food. The woman behind the service preparation counter was unwelcoming, curt and not customer friendly. This was our day out and we are also in the same business so we understand good customer service which...was not afforded to us. Went outside, table cleaned whilst we were sitting and a glass, teaspoons, cups were brought to our table, all soiled with pieces of moist food. Asked server for clean glass, got this with an excuse our new dishwasher is not working correctly. It certainly was not and we ended up asking for takeaway cups. The sandwiches, sausage rolls and ciabatta not a panini were well filled and ok. My gripe as I observed was same gloves worn by the food preparer were for all foods whether vegetarian or meat eater. I feel if you are too busy and cannot cope with customers in a mannerly way, and our lunch was spoilt there is no point being in business.More

I arrived at this ltl gem of a place at 345pm on Easter Saturday, the lady said they were closing at 4pm but was welcome to come in.The lady was very pleasant and welcoming and we ordered cappuccinos and lemon cake each. She then told us...there was only one slice of lemon cake left and she would half it for us if we liked, not many places would do that but I chose something else which wasn't a problem.A young girl served us who was equally as friendly .Overall a lovely experience and we will be back .Keep up the good work ladies.More

Dropped in this morning with my wife for an early lunch with our 1 year old child. Place looked nice and not too busy. We ordered our lunches and asked for a slice of toast for our child. Initially this was accepted. Very friendly waiter...came back soom after our order to say that wouldn't be possible. Asked could we even get a slice of bread for him but this was also not possible. Bread and toast were served as part of lunches on the menu but clearly the message from the boss behind the counter was not to show any flexibility for a child. We enquired about a scone but they were sold out. We would of happily paid what they wanted to charge for the bread. He was starving so had to eat our lunches quickly and find a more accomdating place down the street where we could feed him. Very bizarre experience really. Luckily thomastown has other options. Certainly won't be back and will pass on our experience to other friends in the area.More

Stopped for coffee, juice, & scone to break a journey. Really good quality at a really good price, with v good & friendly service. The home-made raspberry jam was a highlight. Didn’t try the cakes but they looked v tempting, so will be back to...try them when we are passing next time. The loo is fine too. Delightful place. Recommended.More

Enjoyed the lovely selection of food and lovely location. We've often stopped in for lunch and always treated so good. Sad to hear Catriona had left and very noticeable. Still a lovely spot to chill at
