Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Tim’s Bar is a nice pub in Thomastown. We went to this pub on a Wednesday early evening and it was pretty quiet. The bartender was the owners daughter and she was very conversational snd pleasant. The pints were perfect. We ordered a pizza and...a burger and the food portions were abundant.More

Just popped in here to kill an hour before getting picked up after my lovely weekend course at Grennan Mill. Ordered a coffee and Lasagne for me and other half when he arrived. It was delicious (Lucia's recipe who I had met on the course)...very tasty! Cosy, welcoming and fairly lively as there was music going on for a christening. Really enjoyed the place.More

A truly charming spot in an incredibly quaint little village. Tim's makes you feel like you have stepped into a movie filmed in Ireland, and the folks who run this place are SUPERB. They let us squeeze our group of 12 into a space for...8-10 on a BUSY evening. They were super welcoming & VERY good at taking care of us all. An instant favorite in Ireland. Will go back for sure.More

Tim's was recommended to my wife and me by the owner of the B&B where we were staying just southwest of Thomastown. It was exactly how we envisioned an Irish pub! When we arrived the bar was hopping with a pre-wedding party and the mood...was light and fun. John McNena, the owner, served us. I ordered "something dark that wasn't Guinness!" He returned with a glass of Sullivan's Irish Ale, brewed locally in Kilkenny. It was excellent. As was the dinner special that evening, lasagna. When we finished our meals John sat with us and gave us some of his history and the bar's. We heartily recommend Tim's bar. You will not be disappointed.More

This very cosy bar really was an unexpected delight. It has stayed true to its trad Irish style but such added comfort & personality and warmth. I was apprehensive about going to a bar for dinner with my Mum but from the minute we stepped...inside we are enveloped in the warm ambiance which comes from a combination of things I think The design of the bar itself, full of character, traditional in style, but so very very well thought out and maintained and clean. The soft lighting, comfy seating, above all warm welcome from the friendly yet professional staff combined gave us that feeling of lovely warm glow... like hot chocolate and an open fire after a wet cold Winters walk. My mum and I are both gluten intolerant and the staff made us honestly really delicious pizzas. The bases were so crispy I've only had comparable in Italy. The other guests/ diners were made up of I think 2 family groups and 1 small group of friends and 2 couples tables. I think it would. Be suitable for all including date night or any reason.... in fact its worth making one up just to go. Not that you need to in fairness, we had 2 pizzas, 2 lovely generous glasses of Malbec red wine, and one cointreau. The total was I think €44. I am looking forward to bring ing my husband there. The only one problem I have with the place, really, is that it's not in my own home town :) in fact I can't think of somewhere half as nice nearby even in the city... and I live in a lovely suburb of Dublin. Congrats to all the team, I know how much work it takes to deliver anything close to this, I used to work in the drinks business (supplier side) and then the Irish pub design side and its no mean feat what you've achieved. Hope you keep it up and enjoy the excellent rewards you deserve.More
