After passing three "Cash Only" restaurants and two restaurants on Castletownbere High Street, who apparently had no vacancies, we stumbled upon Murphys. We were immediately welcomed and seated by, I believe, the owner. We were shown a couple of menus and there was a great...choice and such a variety it was hard to chose from. We were not disappointed. When our food came out the portions did not leave us wanting. It was good honest food made up from scratch. Looking around we noted empty plates from satisfied customers. The waiting staff were also attentive without being intrusive. The bill was very reasonable for what we ordere and we will call again next time we're in Castletownbere.More

A five day stay in Castletownbere and ate in Murphys nearly every day. Food and value was amazing. Best calamari we ever had washed down with gorgeous NZ sauvignon blanc at a great price. John was really helpful and gave great advice on where to...go and what to do. Highly recommend and look forward to our next visit.More

Lovely place for a toasted special and chips. My sister and friend got the chicken panini. Staff were friendly and it was very affordable. Will definitely be back.

We visited for Lunch yesterday with my family, food and service was 10/10, couldn't fault a thing. Me and my husband got chicken paininis and they came with proper homemade chips, kids loved their food too(all eaten). Service was fantastic, kept checking how we were...and a very friendly atmosphere, kids got a little pack of jellies when we left to top it all off. Highly recommend if visiting Castletownbere, we will definitely be back.More

Ate here twice this week and fabulous. Lovly friendly staff and the man there owner maybe was so friendly and polite. Would definitely reccomend here.

The food was lovely. I asked for extra salad and got a huge portion. Excellent, friendly and attentive service. Very reasonable and an extensive menu. Perfect for families

This place has so much warmth and charm that even if the food were not first class it would still be a pleasure to eat here. The food is exquisite, beautiful fish cooked to perfection, wonderful katsu curry, and fabulous vegetable soup and calamari starters....We couldn't resist the sticky toffee pudding and ice-cream to finish off the meal. Amazing restaurant, parking is close by and the food is phenomenal. I had a wonderful katsu curry and the dessert was also very tasty. The service is incredibly fast and efficient and outdoor seating is well covered from weather.

First time out with our dog and she was slightly terrified and I honestly can’t say enough amazing things about the staff here . They are beyond friendly and helpful . The food is to die for and reasonable . Would 100% advise anyone on...the area to visit here but would definitely advise to book during busy times .More
