Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We went to the cafe for lunch yesterday and were left waiting for ages (despite the place not being busy). It got to the stage that after around 10 minutes of waiting for service to come over to ask if we wanted tea/coffee/cake after our...mediocre lunch, we decided to leave as the staff were too busy talking to customers they knew in the cafe. The hygiene standards weren’t great in the cafe either, all of the cakes were out with no covers on them and customers/staff standing over them talking. Definitely won’t be returning.More

At first we went for tea and cake, it was so good we went back for coffee and cake, and that was just as lovely so we went back again for lunch (which also involved cake!) and that was great too! And so it went...on! When you walk in you'll do a little sigh of pleasure; if only all tea rooms were like this! The selection of perfect cakes, tempting traybakes, cookies, monumental meringues and cheesecake is a delight to behold. Every mouthful was delicious. I don't even like cheesecake but this cheesecake was so good, we came back for more! Everything is made by them, in their kitchen which is rare now, and so it tastes like cake should be.More

What an amazing surprise this was! Tiny little two roomed cafe with SO SO much to offer and the value and quality of the fare was exceptional - I had the Vegetarian Chili Con Carne with 2 hard shell tacos and a side of spot...creme with chopped avocado, a side of grated cheese and a side of chopped tomato. The simplicity of this and the freshness was delicious - my companion has Quiche and side salad. The coleslaw is as orange from the freshness of the homemade slaw!! Impressive freshness - coffee was also DELISH. Cakes galore but I passed and this was a difficult task as the twice baked blueberry cheesecake looked amazing - Well done to all the ladies involved- we will most definitely be backMore

This was our second time at this tea shop.Very disappointed on this occasion.l ordered the vegan breakfast and the vegetarian one was served. No issue there, honest mistake.l asked for a plate to transfer the vegan items and return the egg and halloumi and subsequently asked for...the plate to be taken back and rectified.l got a cold plate with the spinach, mushrooms and tomatoes ,all cold bar the tomatoes. The owner did not emerge from the kitchen and has to be accountable for what leaves the kitchen.lt was also on the bill at 12 euro, only taken off when my husband mentioned that l was not happy with the situation.I felt the staff were inexperienced and there was lack of leadership which made for poor service. Not a positive experience, particularly when vegan breakfast is on the menu.More

I have been traveling throughout Ireland for 4 months, and I have stayed in many hostels and B&Bs, but this is the BEST of the lot. I found it hard to leave this place and always wanted to stay one more night. The staff and...the owner are super friendly and the breakfast menu is mega. Unlike every other place, there is an extensive choice of different breakfasts, coffee and teas, and the beds, my god, the beds!! I slept like a baby every night here and I have never experienced such comfort in a bed. All this, and the fact the locals are very friendly and welcoming, make this an amazing place to stay. I will be back soon. Thanks to all the staff! Ryan xMore

We had a brunch here. The staff were friendly and helpful. I ordered a cheesy ciabatta which, according to the menu, was to be accompanied with crisps and a salad. While the chiabatta was toasted, the cheese was unmelted and cold in the middle, the...crisps were crushed, presumably from the bottom of the bag, and there was no sign of the salad. At least the Coke was OK and came with plenty of ice. We also had a slice of cake each and that was excellent - fresh and delicious.More

I have been to The Tea Room several times for both breakfast and coffee and cake. It is warm and welcoming wirh pleasant smiling staff. Their home made cake selecion is excellent. The breakfast menu is wide and varied, I can recommend their “Hash Brown...Special”. It is unusual and very very tasty. The ambience is very relaxing. Well done to owner and staff on your excellent service.More

We were thrilled to find somewhere that serves vegan food and went to this establishment for lunch. We ordered food and we were given our drinks quick enough but after half an hour we asked a waitress if we would be waiting much longer for...what was basically two sandwiches. She returned from the kitchen and we were told it would be another ten minutes to which I calmly pointed out that 40 mins was a very long time to wait for lunch. To our dismay a woman whom I can only assume is the owner came storming out of the kitchen and angrily pointed out we hadn’t been waiting for 40 minutes and that she was on her Own in the kitchen and went on to rant about other customers in the restaurant who “forgot” to tell her they were gluten free and if we weren’t happy we could go somewhere else and have our drinks and just not pay for them. We were mortified to be shouted at in front of the whole cafe. As a person who runs a business in hospitality myself I was disgusted at our treatment. There is no excuse for this type of behaviour.More
