Dinner with 6 people. Entrees were outstanding followed by lovely mains with only local sustainable fish. Servings were huge and delicious. No- one managed to eat all their fries. Then came the surprise. Desert! While the selection was not huge the prices were small and the delight that followed was completely unexpected. Amazing service and a great resturant that cleverly plays up locally sourced food that can also combine traditional with trendy flavors add that to an amazing atmosphere and setting. Devonport you are so lucky!

We have been trying to get a reservation here for several months and can see why it is so popular. Firstly I can never understand why fish is so expensive in restaurants across Ireland particularly those on our coasts. What struck me immediately with the Fish Kitchen was ow reasonably priced their menu is. The food is exceptional with a varied menu to suit all. We arrived without a reservation for lunch and were lucky to arrive early to secure a table on what was a busy lunchtime in Bantry. My dish of hake was accompanied with a fresh salad lightly dressed. My son enjoyed his fish and chips which he claimed were "the best". Coffee is also good here. Overall a warm friendly atmosphere with attentive staff. Well done Fish Kitchen. Definitely will be back.

Mmm. It doesn't get much fresher than a fish restaurant above a fishmonger's. We had a lovely meal here. Portions were more than generous, and the fish was fresh and delicious, as were the starters, desserts and coffee. There was plenty of choice for me as a coeliac. Service was efficient (without being rushed) and friendly, and the setting is lovely and cosy. A good indicator of the quality is the fact that all the other plates headed for other tables looked delicious too. Definitely recommended.

We stopped by for some late lunch on a Saturday and they were still very busy outside. Friendly staff who chatted with us while waiting for a table to become available. We had the oated fish cakes and hake goujons which were delicious. Good white wine too. The menu is limited with only 5 or 6 options and only a few tables outside. But still very popular. We tried to go back in the week but the waiting queue was too long.

Delicious lunch food and great service. We had fish cakes , the crab sandwich and sushi which all went down well, and portion sizes were spot on. We also bought some fantastic fresh mussels and langoustines at the fish counter which we cooked for dinner.

Having tried all the food establishments in Bantry I can confidently say The Fish Kitchen is the best. They keep it simple allowing the fantastic quality of their fish to shine through.
I recommend the lunchtime service which is particularly good value. All in all a highly recommended spot if you are ever in Bantry

This was the best dining experience of our holidays. We ate upstairs in the cosy dining room. The fish dishes were just lovely - perfectly cooked & the service was really friendly & relaxed.
We will definitely be back. Thank you.

Very disappointing. We had high hopes but unfortunately didn't enjoy our meal here. The wrap was measly, had hardly any salmon and lacked flavour - couldn't taste the cajun. The tacos were fresh but again lacked any flavour. The fish and chips were nice, maybe stick to them

We stayed in Bantry last weekend. Ordered dinner for Saturday & Sunday takeout. The food was exceptional, definitely best takeaway we have had during our lockdown, they thought of everything even putting in herb garnishes & a lemon. Would gladly drive down from Cork for it again (if only I could drive), trying to persuade my husband !! But what really blew us away was we went for a 6km walk on Sheeps Head , got lost &ended up doing 14km.We were meant to be collecting the food at 4.30, rang Diarmuid & explained the situation. He waited for us till 7.30 to pick it up. What great service! We were so grateful to him. Thank you again Diarmuid.

As The Fish Kitchen are not serving indoors we have had 2 takeaway meals - crab open sandwiches x 2, and takeaway fish salad x 2. Both delicious. The salad included lettuce leaves, carrot salad, potato salad, marie rose sauce, prawns, crab claws and smoked salmon. They even added 2 slices of brown bread for my husband. We will be getting these again tomorrow!! Well done

Lobster with garlicky butter, prawn salad, the most flavoursome chowder, crispy battered haddock, chunky chips, salad.
We had the most delicious lunch today at the Fish Kitchen. Only serving from 12-3, we were glad we reserved. Every morsel of food was so fresh and tasty.
Our 8yr old rated it as the best fish and chips he’s ever eaten out.
The apple and cinnamon crumble was gorgeous, macchiato’s and really friendly staff topped it off.
We look forward to returning.
So impressed at simple fresh food beautifully prepared and cooked.
Fabulous!

We went upstairs at 3 and were squeezed in for a delicious late lunch. I had the open crab sandwich which was perfect and simple. My husband had Bantry mussels and he said they’re the best he’s had. Two others had the breaded hake- also delicious. My daughter had carrot and coriander soup even though she doesn’t normally like soup and loved it. Would highly recommend and will definitely return in future.

We tried to book this for an evening but it's only open for lunch at the moment, but decided to call in for a late lunch, We all really enjoyed our lunch and the fish and chips were excellent. They also have a wider range of fish dishes. Desserts were also very nice. Service was great and staff were both very friendly and helpful with the menu. Good value for the quality of the food.
