Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Found this Cafe after finding the nearby 'Church Cafe' no longer caters for coffee & cake. Very Friendly welcome from the host Service was prompt and efficient. Lovely bagels and coffee. Hope the cafe prospers.

This wonderful cafe is a must visit when in Skibbereen. There is a fantastic range of gorgeous homemade produce. We were very warmly greeted by the wonderful owner Angela. We arrived late on a Monday when it was closing time, but Angela obliged us by...staying open to serve us drinks and some fabulous desserts. We sat outside in a lovely seated area in the sunshine. She is a wonderful host who was so friendly and welcoming to us. When leaving she gave us a bag with free scones and croissants, such a lovely thoughtful gesture. It was very much appreciated. We went back again the next day where we had a mixture of winter veg soup, sandwiches, wraps, paninis and some gorgeous desserts. Everything was so delicious and very fresh. The salads accompanying the wrap were particularly tasty, as was the sticky toffee dessert. The menu has plenty of choice and is very well priced, excellent value for the quality of the food we received. Nothing was too much trouble and the portions were very generous. Angela was full of useful local information for us, as we were tourists visiting the town for a few days. I wish we had more time in the area as we would have loved another visit to this beautiful cafe. So many more things on the menu we all wanted to try. With Angela at the helm this business will thrive. Both the locals and tourists alike will not be disappointed with a trip here. We will definitely return if we are ever in this area again. Thank you Angela from the Rossies. You are one of life’s gems, and you made our trip so much more enjoyable. Sometimes the smallest gesture can leave the biggest imprint. We wish you every success with Apple Betty’s. Hope to see you again in the futureMore

So we ate here this week. Coffee and quiche for me and the lamb burger for himself. So, so tasty. Home cooking at its best. You won't find prices as low as these anywhere either. Gorveous seating area inside and plenty outdoor seating for the...sunny days. Would definitely recommend it and we'll be going back very soon ourselves! Well done Angela and Ruth. And the waiting staff are so lovely too. Home away from home ❤More

Visited Apple Betty’s today and it was such a good idea. Excellent coffee, service and value for money. The lemon drizzle is out of this world, it’s got the taste of “more” off it. Great COVID-19 precautions in place.

I popped in for a quick solo lunch, the staff were good and table service was prompt although it was busy. I found it quite expensive for what was a glorified sandwich but then I found most restaurants/cafes expensive in Ireland on this trip. The...food however was really tasty I enjoyed it very much and I would definitely return againMore

We really enjoyed a family lunch at Apple Betty’s Cafe. The homemade cakes not only tasted divine but the portion sizes were amongst the most generous I have experienced. The coffee was excellent. The staff were friendly and courteous. Top marks, a wonderful place to...stop and relax.More
