The Church Restaurant is located in the heart of Skibbereen Town in West Cork, it was originally a Methodist Church from 1833 to 2003. Steeped in history and character with lovely stained glass windows and high wooden ceilings, The Church Restaurant is open 7 days a week serving a variety of locally sourced produce. All beef & meat served in this restaurant is of Irish origin and purchased in the local butcher shop. Fresh fish comes from the local shores of Union Hall and vegetables are purchased daily for local suppliers.
Booking is necessary and all the expected Covid precautions in evidence.
Warm, friendly, helpful staff.
Nice atmosphere with the stained glass church windows coming in to their own at sunset especially when seated upstairs.
Menu comprehensive, quick service, food excellent.
Booked for a Wednesday added...a Thursday evening as we had such a nice experience.
Ate here as part of a group of 3 ladies on a friends staycation! Beautiful restaurant, great location, fantastic food and wonderful staff... five stars on all the above. My only critique is that I found the cocktails very expensive given what we got.... not really up...to scratch on that part I'm afraid.More
We booked Sunday lunch for the three of us as we were holidaying in Skibbereen, our daughter had been there in the New Year. We had a delicious lunch. Service and food was superb. Most enjoyable experience and no problem with social distancing during covit....Very happyMore
Shoutout to Hannah, our waitress today at the Church Restaurant. I couldn’t decide what to eat, and between us we decided on the stir fry with cashew nuts. It was absolutely delicious! Hannah was very friendly, warm and welcoming and a real asset to the...restaurant. Beautiful food in beautiful surroundings with beautiful people. Thank you. 😀More
Gorgeous food, good choice brie was lovely , atmosphere and service young enthuastic and genuine so often missing. Food and service can't be faulted, safe and clean, lovely staff, menu decent all options were tasty.
Building is remarkable and atmosphere was nice, its an old...burned and rebuilt church, new hard wood roof preserved stained glass and original opes.. Finished beautifully aside from some lazy electrician who needs to not get this kind of work to do ever again. Its a pet peeve only stunning refurb ruined by lazyness, they didn't even try to hide it being seating.More
wow! got our table at number 69, 5 stars already :D not just that but youthful and excited staff!! fried brie is a must if you go here hehe! AND GUESS WHAT? desserts were all 6.90! nice one guys, have a great night 👍
I visited The Church with my mother on a recent trip to Skibberean for dinner. Inside, this restaurant has a lovely warm atmosphere with plenty of space between each of the tables.
For starters we ordered the brie (which was absolutely massive) and the black...pudding spring roles which were beautiful. Our mains were equally as tasty as well as dessert.
They have no early bird which they previously have had before but I expect this is due to Covid. I would visit this venue again for food in a heartbeat.More
I am very slow to give any restaurant a bad review during Covid as I appreciate how difficult business is at present but...
we ate in The Church recently close to a family of 3 young boys with their parents, the were all under 5...years old and they jumped off the stairs, rolled around the floor, and generally turned the place into a playground rather than a restaurant. Obviously the parents did nothing about this NOR DID THE RESTAURANT STAFF!!!
We are all minding ourselves and not to go for a meal to have children running around the restaurant....surely somebody in charge could have put a stop to this carry on...but noMore
There is a menu for all times of day online, just Google church restaurant Skibbereen. There is also one on display outside as well. They don't change the menu very often but there are always daily specials.
