Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Kerry's Fawlty Towers! After ordering and waiting 45 minutes, went to see would our food be much longer. Was told 5 minutes later that the item I ordered was sold out, would I like something else!!!! Food arrived and was ordinary at best. Heard the...place was supposed to be good. Very disappointing. Won't be returning. Not recommended.More

Disappointed with the slow service, the old school decore, poor standard of food. Staff are friendly but sad to say it's is just another rip off.

My husband had fish and chips, I had grilled ham and cheese. Good pub fare; good prices and good service.

What a amazing place the food was out of this world. The staff are the nicest people ever. They do so much for everyone and you get a lovely kerry welcome. And they really look after each person that goes in for dinner. 5 stars would...not be enough to say how much I loved my time in the Tower hotel and I will be back. Everyone should try this place out.More

This hotel had a large resident dog but our dogs were not allowed inside. Crazy! The food was average but not good value.

Had lunch here after hiking the morning. Bar was large with plenty of seating.. I had some delicious mussels here and a nice Guinness. Lots of Ryan's Daughter memorabilia here and a collection of USA license plates.

We only came for drinks, having already eaten elsewhere. Frankly, we wished we had come here for dinner. The place was lively on a Tuesday night, and the food looked and smelled awesome. The drinks were good and the service was friendly. Next time, we’re...coming here for dinner.More

Good ambience, good food, great craic with Gary (a strange old man wandering round the place) and Lisa. Not much not to like. Reasonable cost. Made a real effort to make the meal special.

My wife and i went for lunch today at the Towers and we were met by Gary at the door. He could not have been more personable-a genuine Irish personality! It has been said that Cavan folk are supposed to be a little economical. I...have not found that personally but Gary could not have been nicer or more helpfu or indeed more generous of spirit. He provided a lovely roast stuffed lamb and pandered to our every whim. Top class!!More

Food really isn't up to scratch - we are a family of four, 2 kids aged 4 & 2.5... €7 for kids meals which were really not at the races - chips were so bad for this price point - had to ask for cutlery,...no napkins, my wife ordered grilled salmon from the specials board which was dry and over-cooked, served with frozen (or old) veg.... I had the burger - I would've gotten better in the chipper across the road... Service not great either, don't think it was the fault of the staff as they were generally nice but the whole pay before you eat/drink because you are sitting outside is a bit untrustworthy. Overall, not a pleasant experience and would definitely not return - €6 for a pint of local beer is also taking the piss....More

We are a family of 5 adults. Having booked to eat dinner in the pub, we arrived to find it full, however the extremely friendly helpful staff, showed us to an upstairs room, which we found to be lacking atmosphere. The flexible customer centered staff...invited us to visit their beautiful dining room, where we could also order from the bar food menu. Our group had *hamburgers, *fish and chips and *crab claws & crab meat salad. The food was all well presented, to everyone’s taste and the service was excellent. Desserts - chocolate fudge cakes, apple pie and ice cream and a strawberry cheese cake. All were mouth wateringly delicious. I would definitely recommend eating here. Stunning views were clear to see as the sun was shinning too.More
