Fabulous restaurant in an old refurbished church in the heart of Kilorglin. The food is absolutely wonderful. Great choice, amazing flavours and perfect portions. Loved every morsel! The staff are fantastic too. Highly recommend this place. Can’t wait to go back!

Last New Years eve already seems like a long time ago, not covid, we just decided to head out at the last minute and we called Sol y Sombra to see if they had space for us and they did, at the bar. That was...fine for us late comers and we enjoyed some food, a cocktail and a few beers and rang in the midnight hour with some music. The business of the night dwindled at that stage but it was a memorable New Years eve for two. I have to say generally, I am not the biggest fan of Tapas, more options, more money but overall its doesn't totally rock my boat. That said, it was the overall feel, food and drink gives it ten out of ten...More

With all the reviews and awards we had high expectations of this restaurant, unfortunately it didnt live up to our expectations. The food was average, and the lack of small plates was disappointing for a tapas restaurant. The worst bit was the lack of service, having...to call staff over to order more drinks and food, asking for menus to order the next course. The place wasnt even busy so no explanation to the poor service. Very disappointed.More

Was lucky enough to visit this Tapas bar tonight. We had the hake, truly the nicest fish dish we have ever eaten, lived the ambience of this old church. This is a must visit place if you are in Killorglin

We visited the place on Sunday evening and it was full, so booking in advance well recommended. They serve lovely cocktails and have tasty wine. The tapas menu is nice, we shared a portion of crispy squids which was a perfect started for two. Then...we both had a grilled hake with additional french fries and a side salad. The portion was just perfect, not too big so we still had enough space for a dessert. The dessert was tasty, but very small (french puff pastry with cream and fruits) so I would order something else next time. The service was super fast, staff nice, but not overly friendly. The covid-19 rules followed. The prices are very reasonable and we really enjoyed our stay. Thanks!More

We are here last minute and with covid restrictions we though we wudnt get in. But they kindly set us a table outside in a lovely area out the back of the church. We ordered a bottle of wine and enjoyed the amazing taste of...the various tapas on offer, highly recommend the shrimp which is fresh and has a lovely subtle chilli garlic sauce. Also the panna cotta desert was gorgeous.More
