Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Great pub full of nostalgia and the drink is very good too. We enjoyed a few delicious warming hot ports on a very chilly afternoon.

This is a local bar, so very busy, but that makes this bar so good. Good variety in beer and whiskey. Also live music is played. Good choice to have a drink in Clifden

Lowry's Bar is an institution in Clifden. It is the favorite watering hole of the locals, and also popular with tourists. It was voted best traditional pub in Ireland a few years ago. The pint of Guinness is reasonably priced at €5.40. There's also a...good selection of Irish malts. For TV retransmission of major sporting events , it can get very crowded - I was there during an Ireland-England rugby game....More

Passed the pub on our 1st day in Clifden - and have been in every evening since. No electricity due to bad weather from 5pm onwards .... so cash only and the pub might run out of clean glasses Staff took it like the Pros...they are - friendly an proficient.More

Great night in Lowrys. Great atmosphere and the music was great. Was a brilliant end to a great day. The Guinness here was the best I've had in Clifden. Staff were great too.

We popped in here for a drink and the staff were incredibly friendly. Also, my Irish friend said she had the best pint of Guinness she's ever had here so that's a very good recommendation!!

Dropped in for drinks when we arrived in Clifden. Brilliant duo playing guitar and accordion, singing away: walk down towards the back to hear best. Brilliant line up of songs located in centre of the town. Would be back here in a jiffy.

We came here because they were one of the only places with live music on the weekday night we were staying in Clifden. It was a slow night but the band was pretty good, playing American classic rock tunes. The bartenders were friendly. It's definitely...a place you go to for beer or whiskey, not anything fancier than that. I made the mistake of ordering a Moscow Mule. Next time I'll stick to beer or hard cider.More

Solid Irish Bar in the heart of Clifden, Connemara…. Rough and ready but can be great fun when the music gets going. Well worth a visit if in town 👌
