Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Our group had dinner here, and it was fabulous! Best chowder I have ever had, and the views can't be beat. The owner was charming, and service was outstanding. Def recommend this restaurant.

We had an amazing evening here. High end food with a homely feel and attention to details. We had a bottle of wine recommended to us and the service was lovely.

The food and views from the restaurant are both very memorable, and definitely make it worth a visit. We visited as a family of 4 and thought it was a place we'd maybe like to come back to without the kids! While they do provide...kids options (really good ones!), we felt it was very expensive for a family of 4. With all of us having a main and desert, and a drink each, it was close to 200 including the tip.More

We celebrated my mother’s 70th Birthday last night at Ardagh restaurant. We were seated as requested at the window, and what a view it is. To be fair the set of the room is well thought through, so even though you may be three or...four tables back, placement of tables and two large accommodating windows give everyone a great view. From our initial welcome at reception through the whole night this place oozes calmness, friendliness and class. There are many ‘wanna be’ boutique hotels, this is a genuine contender. There is no pretentiousness just pure genuine five star service from people that are well trained and aligned to the ethos of the owners. You can tell this because everyone is ‘cut from the same cloth’. No primadonnas, no sulky trendies just genuinely nice people. Oh and the dog, Bruce. Food was amazing, we had one Lobster Menu, one Four Course and three dishes off the al la carte. Every single dish was outstanding, cooked to perfection, arrived well presented and hot. I could go on and want to go on but I will wrap with this - if you want something special, a menu with enough variety to have you annoyed you can’t have two or three of every course, all delivered by amazing staff in a brilliant atmosphere with exceptional views then book. You will not be disappointed.More

Just outside of Clifden, overlooking quiet waters is this hotel and restaurant. We went just for dinner and it was a delight - subtle flavours being celebrated in each dish - we had the ceviche for starters and the goats cheese tart, then rock and...hake for main, and shared a dessert - rose infused creme brulle with a lovely white wine. Lovely staff too...we had to go and thank the chef!More

We had a fantastic few days staying at the Ardagh. Owners and staff were so friendly and helpful, Hotel is spotlessly clean throughout and the food was only fabulous from the breakfast to bar food, to the Restaurant. Amazing flavours and generous portions. spectacular view...from both the bar and Restaurant is an added bonus.More
