Called mid week - no reservation but accommodated straight away - lucky we were early as it filled quite quickly. Delicious, unpretentious, good value food and friendly service. Value very good - family of five, with a shared starter and deserts, with a couple of drinks for €100, not bad at all. Well worth checking out.

Very busy but managed to get seated in bar area. Waitress very helpful and polite. Food arrived quickly and was hot. Tasty curry. Good stew. Good fish and chips. Nice pizza. Very decent pub grub.

My boyfriend & I visited here this weekend and had a lovely meal. It was very busy when we arrived but a lovely member of staff assured us they would find us a table while we waited at the bar. Leek & potato soup was delicious as was the sea bass. Lots of different flavours. The bar is really cosy... More

We were renting a house in the area for a week in July with Family and Friends. We found this pub on our first day and had the best Guinness ever plus a great quick lunch. We liked it so much we went back on 2 nights for dinner each time with a large group of about 12 adults and... More

I have eaten here several times. Initially I was quite impressed, good quality good value. However on one or two more recent business I though standards had dropped quite a bit across the board. Most recent

Ate here with family recently. Had to wait 30 mins to get seated which was OK as we had drink at the bar. Young bar man not all friendly.. Verging on rude. Very friendly waitresses though.Food was average. Very bland , no real flavour. Stew lacked beef and flavour. Both sea bass special and curry were bland. Nice place but completely... More

It was a Friday night and we had no reservation anywhere, four of us. We waited for around 25 minutes for a table. Nothing to complain about, nice menu with many selections. Lots of locals as well as tourists. Music starting as we left. I suggest to make a reservation in Clifden if you are there on a weekend for... More

We've went for our B&B recommendation. It's true what they told us: a lot of people. It was 6:10pm and there were only 2 tables! But it's also true you don't have to wait too much time. The service was superior, and the food amazing, we will come back tomorrow!

It was very busy when we arrived at about 7.30. The wait was 1 hour so we hung around the bar and quickly got a seat and ate at the bar. Prawn cocktail was excellent, as were the fish and chips (and Guinness). Very informal, non-pretentious bar/restaurant that I'd definitely recommend.
