A perfect Irish setting, good waiters, excellent food (seafood for sure), and a lovely cozy (fire burning) dinner on a cool autumn evening. Only cautionary remark would be that it was too hot in the restaurant. Everyone was taking off sweaters and layering down to...More

Food was delicious. We asked waitress how fresh the salmon was and she replied, “ my father caught it this morning!” I believe that’s true. Generous portions, not expensive and dining room felt like home for a large family. Wonderful. Can’t wait to visit again.

I can say that this place has delicious seafood, fresh and well prepared. Our server was very attentive and polite. A place to recommend to eat when in Clifden!

After spending an afternoon at Connemara National Park, we we`re hoping to have a late lunch at Darcy Twelve as its reviews were quite good. Sadly, it didn't open until 5 the day we were there, so we noticed Mitchell`s next door which was quite...More

This restaurant is well and truly let down by its staff. They didn't seem to care what kind of an experience the customer has, and there was no warmth. In my opinion the food was average and the menu somewhat jaded. We dined there twice...More

We had lunch here on a Monday. Chowder, mussels, fish and chips and a fish finger sandwich - a great range of fish and seafood dishes, all beautifully cooked. The Killary mussels I had were sweet and moist. The puddings are also home-made and were...More

Helpful and informative staff. The food was delicious - go for seas food - its what its famous for. My scallops were the best I've had in a long time, and the crab sald was fresh and plentiful. A gem.

We had driven by the mussels fishery in the Killary fjord so when we saw them on the menu here we had to try them - soooo good, fresh, a little sweet and cooked perfectly in a beautiful broth. My dad had the salmon which...More

I ate lunch here on a recent vacation in Clifden. I had read online that this was one of the best restaurants in town. Although the article recommended seafood (and the restaurant does tout seafood), I opted for the shepherd's pie and was not disappointed....More

For almost ten years now my wife and I are regular diners at Mitchells restaurant, Clifden, Connemara. Because of the frequency of lunching there about once a fortnight over their seven or eight month season, we feel well placed to give an accurate comment on...More

July 2015, no reservations needed. Walked in and was seated. Remember that the days are long w the sun shining, so tendency to eat early evening -even 7-8 pm worked well. This surprised us because we normally eSt earlier... More
