The Steam Cafe offer delicious food along with excellent service at a very reasonable price.
What’s more, they’re ready to provide sound advice on their gluten free options.
The heavenly strawberry roule together with a creamy cappuccino was my guilty secret.
Ssssh ! Don’t tell anyone.

Steam Cafe only gets better with time! Alan, Claire and team work tirelessly to make you feel at home, unrushed while providing great lunches, coffee and dessert. We enjoyed the daily specials and the open face crabmeat sandwich never disappoints.
Look forward to being back again soon!

I've been in here twice over he past two weeks and what a great little find - really nice barista coffee and excellent choice of sandwiches. The staff are friendly and accommodating. All staff members were wearing masks/ behind a screen so felt very safe. Tables well spaced out. Looking forward to going back!

Stopped off for a quick coffee/snack while travelling in Connemara recently. Great selection of cakes/ wraps etc on offer, all served up by friendly and helpful staff. Place was buzzing when we arrived, social distancing was very evident and it was great to see the team continually sanitise all tables/ chairs, door handles etc. Well worth a visit if in Clifden

We visited Steam for a late breakfast when we arrived in Clifden and a lunch on another day of our stay. We were able to sit outside as the weather was lovely. We had a lovely breakfast of bagels and scones as well as a coffee and hot chocolate. The lunch was beautiful, a duck wrap and the open brown bread sandwich. Both meals were delicious and the service was very good. Lovely spot.

Great coffee and food for lunch. Really enjoyed the nice cakes and freshly made rolls. Friendly staff ! A very nice place just outside the main street but definitely a nice place to visit and have your coffee, tea and lunch.
We would certainly go there again !
Oh and it is free parking there since you are just a couple of hundred metres from the busy Main Street.

Popped into the Steam Coffee House for a vegan salad and a coffee. Both were excellent - great service from the staff. Located in the area where the old railway station existed - worth a visit for the shops and railway heritage.

This is hands down the best cafe in Clifden. The coffee is phenomenal, the food divine and the service exceptional. Highly recommend.

I went there because my partner needed to go to the toilet and we decided to take some coffee then. I live in Clifden almost 5 years and never was in this place. We got coffee and piece of cake- both very tasty and served with the smile. Everything in there is great. I recomend it without any doubt.
